I think we dodged a bullet here, let's see what his contract comes in at
"The Minnesota Wild have reportedly traded pending restricted free-agent forward Kevin Fiala's rights to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for their 2022 first-round pick and prospect Brock Faber, according to The Athletic's Michael Russo."
Edit: 7yr - 7.9m, not as bad as I thought it would be |

There are more RFAs, UFA's and other salary cap challenges for multiple teams. I believe the team that is patient will find great bargains over the ext month.

Whispers coming out of Calgary that they may have to deal Matthew. Not healthy to have brothers playing out of the same dressing room.
More important, Matthew would not likely accept the Brady self imposed cap of $8.4m |

Im just happy PD didn’t get Fiala. Best news out of that deal…..which won’t age well. |

Sens have lots of skill and speed. Norris, Steutzle, Batherson, Formenton, Joseph, Brown and Pinto. Like to see them add more jam and size.

Wouldn't have fit in this locker room and he didn't want to come here! I will have a piece up by Noon tomorrow, possibly sooner depending what info I get to post.

But there's your size and jam that you speak of.

That is what was reported, he played on the number one PP unit with him though.

Sens prospect Philippe Daoust Memorial Cup champ! Played hockey with him 5 years ago when he was a 15 year old skating circles around grown men, he has made quite the development! |

Agreed. Bullet dodged. Not the right fit for this team right now. A true right hand shot, right winger and a true top 4 right handed d-man are the two biggest needs.
Remains to be seen if that 7th pick is moved but glad it wasn't for Fiala. |

It certainly wouldn't have! But at some point this team needs to take a leap of faith and hope a player on a 6 or 7 year deal helps them for 4 years and gets them playoff success, otherwise this team will just keep spinning its wheels. |

Ottawa could've easily outdone LA on a deal but like you and a few others said, use the pick on someone that this team needs!!!

Very nice! I caught some of the game. It would be nice if the Sens found a diamond in the rough with Daoust.

When you make these opinionated, absolute statements, and the statements do not age well, do you ever consider thinking a post through before posting? - HoweHatrick
You can tell she never watches a full Sens game let alone knows who Lassi Thomson is. He got sent down because Josh Brown returned from injury after getting 1st or 2nd TOI for 10 straight games on his call up. To start the season, he was easily top 4 on defense but his 2 way deal made PD send him down rather than playing the best players!

If the Sens got him, they would have the 1st, 3rd and 5th picks from that draft lol. But like Kevin said back at the trade deadline, the Rangers were rumoured to be moving Alex to the Yotes for Jacob Chychryn. - LawyerSens4Life
The Rangers were in big on JC, but for whatever reason NYR would have no problem moving AF either. They want another top 4 defensemen and power forward for the coming. They will do whatever it takes to acquire both.

From Spector's Hockey -
As for the Wild, they now have two picks in the first round (19th and 24th overall) and a promising blueliner in the 19-year-old Faber, who spent this season with the University of Minnesota. The Athletic’s Scott Wheeler ranked him seventh among Kings prospects during his 2022 ranking of their prospect pool. |

COULD TWO GOLDEN KNIGHTS BECOME OFFER SHEET TARGETS?
THE ATHLETIC: Jesse Granger speculated over whether Nicolas Roy or Nicolas Hague will be targeted for offer sheets by rival clubs. Both players are restricted free agents with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Roy is coming off a career-best 15 goals and 39 points in 2021-22. The 25-year-old forward was on a two-year deal earning $750k annually. Hague, 23, had 14 points in 52 games. The defenseman is coming off his entry-level contract and lacks arbitration rights. |

Niiiice. Played with Belleville last year and also for Saint John Sea Dogs, Chabot's old team
I think there will be some gems in the 2020 draft for sure |

Why in the world would anyone offer sheet those guys? People eat all this speculation stuff right up so it doesn't seem to matter how ridiculous it is.
Happy the Fiala noise is gone. Now there is this obsession with moving the number 7 pick. Dorion has got to do it or the world will end!
I will be happy if Dorion just signs Norris, Zub, Formenton and Joseph to reasonable deals and uses the pick to add another top prospect. Please let there not be another Dorion "proudest day of his life" moment. |

How your GM hasn’t signed Norris and Zub in particular, to extensions already will make any UFA wonder about the stability of the roster long term. Your GM is a piece of work.

Zub I'm not sure about. But Norris could've been signed at the beginning of the season. |

It really shows you how the Wild didn't get much for a guy who is now making 8 million. He had a career year, who knows if he duplicates it again. The Wild gets a 7th ranked prospect from the Kings organization and a bottom half first round pick.
