However...please not Quinn (only slightly better choice than Sacco). |

As soon as I saw Quinn was being interviewed. I figured it was over. I would be shocked if he doesn't get hired. He coached at BU so he already coached Mcavoy and Gryz.
Is he a better coach than Bruce? Nope probably not. But he checks off the stupid boxes that they are looking for. I don't like it either but i think there are worse choices out there.
He also just got the boot from the Rangers because his team was too soft. So be ready for that. |

If Quinn gets picked, do you think Sacco will stick around as assistant? Thats like a double whammy right there. |

I'm just hoping the Bruins rebuild doesnt last as long as the Red-Wings re-build.
Red Wings are into what year of re-build? 7? 8?

Its not about how bad things are its about what this guy is. As a player he played over 1000 games as a bruin. I'm following the bruins since the 60's and I can't remember ONE Don Sweeney moment. One remember the night Sweeney did this. He is milk toast and thats what he likes. Gryz, Zboril,Nosek, Forbert, they all try, they are not bad, but there is no bruin tradition there. They will be ok just like him. He is proud of playing all those years, overcoming his limitations great, give him credit but I don't want a team of Sweeneys. How this guy deserves a multi year deal is beyond me.
He is going to hire a college coach because thats what he likes. Is that the direction you feel is best for this team ? Do you trust him to build a real contender ? I guess if your satisfied with being ok, satisfied with having no real fire Sweeney will do . I want a little more. I want a bruin team that plays to the bruin identity. Not a college book club. Thank god Bergy is coming back.

Yzerman has only been GM for the Wings for 3 years and this will be his 4th draft. You can't count what Holland did as rebuilding since he locked the team up with a lot of bad contracts, a lot of washed up vets and very little in terms of prospects. Yzerman had to buy out bad contracts, let them play out and build up a prospect pool. |

Weird how they’ve won the same amount of cups as the bruins in that span. |

I've said this before...see if you can find Neely's comments right after the Lucic trade...something along the lines of we can't be the big bad Bruins anymore...that is not today's NHL. The Bruins' identity crisis lies with one man who micromanages every decision. Sweeney didn't fire Bruce, it was Neely. Loved the player, hate the exec... |

he was the hardest hitting 170 pound defenseman in the NHL until he broke his shoulder. He was paired with Bourque, so, he got to ride a lot of coattails.

Really not looking to put down Sweeney’s
Career. Again he played a long time and was a reliable dman. But was he a difference maker, no because he could only have an impact in certain areas. That’s the type of player he likes. Look at Sweeney’s playoff plus-minus stats as opposed to regular season . Just like Grzelyck when it was hockey at its heaviest he struggled. Not from lack of trying. But you can’t make a German Shepard out of a poodle. That’s why I don’t like him being in charge of this teams direction. He makes some good moves, some reasonable signings but he doesn’t like the fierce type of player that makes the difference in the playoffs. He is milk toast. And if they sign Quinn as coach uh oh. |

You could be the Flyers and have Chuck Fletcher. |

If Sweeney gets to be in charge of a rebuild, you're more looking like an oilers style rebuild than Red wings. |

I honestly think Sweeney is a better GM if Neely isn't in the picture. Not saying perfect, but better. |

Not even Mahewman can put positive spin on this. This organization in no wave shape or form could or should be taken seriously by any one. Even clowns can laugh at this.
