If it was 9, 28, and 41 for 2, I'd do that as well. I'd think 28 is a little more valuable than VO.
- Lunaion

I guess I just don't see the value in it. I'm not afraid at throwing 1sts for players. But to use all that to move into a half a tier up? Just not excited about it. If they want 'their guy' at 6 or 7 and need to use 41 to get him? Fire away.

A lot of them?

Edit- the insane part is saying we had an unbelievable season

- sbroads24

How many organizations would you really take ahead of ours right now? 5?

Nobody said they had an unbelievable season. What was said was that - all things considered - we had a pretty amazing run over the last few months of the season and that is a LOT to feel great about.

The two moves don't need to breed confidence. What is puzzling is that they breed distress.
- Slump Buster

I sorta get the whole implication of 'running it back' in a negative sense, but until we see their goalie plan, I think it's only fair to reserve judgement.

I refuse to lose my poop before July 15.

I can promise you that I will if nothing improves, at any position, especially goalie.

- TheSabresTaco

That's cool, and I really hope your right.

Same. But I'm fairly confident that they are going to legitimately try to get a starting goalie.

Wright
Slaf
Cooley

If any of them were available that’s the order I’d take them in.

- ImThatGuy

I think I would go Cooley.

The Sabres don't believe that, and I don't think scouts do either.

Sure, but whose tier? They are completely subjective in a draft like this. If a guy falls out down to an area where you think you can get a steal then you move up for him.

For what though?
And even if he comes cheap, where does he slot into the lineup?

Also, some people have noted that people with connections to the inside have said that they don't plan to do much this summer. The same insiders have also said that Adams has long been attached to Gibson.

I'll only panic if falls in love with his prospects and reaches a Darcy level of "patience"

Ok, in all seriousness

Do u think the Sabres are moving in the right direction?
You previously have stated that u like all the young talent we have

- jdfitz77

if they grab those 3 or 4 guys needed

yes

I think standing pat and grabbing blah guys that want to be here if anything sets the team back

you can probably get a middle RD
a bottom D
a top 6 guy
a decent goalie

probably 3 of those 4 spots can be filled via free agents on short term deals utilizing cap space and keeping the pipeline full

probably need to trade for a goalie that moves the needle

the tone of this offseason is anything but that message so far and from everything we hear from gerbe, adams, 89, expect a blah summer

I think you are doing this core a disservice if your bringing out anderson for 35 games a year in net

bringing back a pysyk for a bottom pair
and assuming joker and sameulsson is fine for top 2 pair RD

competition is good
quality competition is better

9. Buffalo Sabres: Jonathan Lekkerimaki, RW, Djurgarden (SWEDEN)

Not surprisingly I think Buffalo will be looking to add skill and offense at their pick. The names I’ve heard here the most often are Savoie, Kemell, Kasper and Lekkerimaki.

https://theathletic.com/3...-mock-draft-seven-rounds/

Keep in mind he nailed the Quinn pick.

Sure, tiers are just a consensus thing. Not something to argue too hard over. I think there's a second tier with Nemec that will gone before the Sabres pick. If you divide it differently, that's fine.

I'd still make that trade and never look back.

Reasonable response
You do realize we can’t really do any of that yet though, right?

Free agency has not begun yet

And even if we don’t make all those moves THIS offseason, it doesn’t mean we aren’t trying to win

It just means the guy(s) we want aren’t available at the price we want

Desperately speeding up the rebuild is exactly why we’ve had a 10+ year drought

It’s not a video game
The RIGHT moves often take time to make
