LA is 1-2 years ahead of us in a semi rebuild. We can make moves like that next year if our team shows progress this year
- Fattony1187

I dont know why the Kings would acquire Fiala.

Its going to block guys like Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Kaliyev...................

When are people going to realize that Adams is not going to pay anyone 8-9 mill a year no matter how good Fiala was or is. The payroll will be around 62-65 mill.
- SABRES 89

I don’t think he’s giving out 7 year contracts either. If Dahlin doesn’t get one, I can’t picture who will.

Huh?

Handness means very little. Its good for one timers and some situational passing, that's about it.

There’s a reason that most teams try to pair Lefties with righties
It absolutely matters

They did, on an 8 year deal that he did not sign.

They predicted $8.6M for a 7 year deal.

3 out of the 4 are already playing, Fiala is a 1str liner.

Also, LA getting someone a little cheaper isn't a surprise at all

Some are better on one side than the other for different reasons but as far as playing ability goes being on your off-hand side only effects small parts of your game that can be easily adjusted to.

I did play all over the line up in my days as a player so maybe I just find it easier than others?

- DirtyDan

There are players who play their "offside" for sure, and do so pretty effectively.
At D, having players with active sticks and getting them into passing lanes is more pronounced then it used to be. It is easier to protect the middle of the ice as well.
There are benefits to be realized, but it certainly doesn't rule it out to your point, in fact the Sabres look like they are now advocating for Dahlin to do so to further bolster your case.

A guy like Fiala, who will now be there for 7years, is worth it

A guy like JVR, for example, wouldn’t be

As much as I’ve wanted Fiala for two off seasons now.

I wouldn’t personally have given him that contract.

That just goes to the point some can and some not so much, it's a natural switch for Dahlin, cause he played a lot of it.

I was wondering if you had thoughts on Marco Kasper. Could be a little bit of a reach at 9, but maybe not? 16 would be a dream for him.

Exactly. Depending on a players age. Don’t pay them for past production.

JVR. Backes. Okposo. Louis Erickson. I think hayes on the flyers also has a terrible deal

Ppg guy, 30+ goals, age 25. That contract is a steal compared to what most ppg players get.

Agreed.

It's not like he signed for a huge amount less then what was predicted.

Can we at least get a goalie worth $2-$4 million?
