I M O , this would be a rather drastic mistake...at 16 I could accept it (not be an advocate, but accept it). If this is their thinking, God help this team.

First of all I like he’s overshadowed by his teammate. Gonna have a lot to prove. Kinda a Thurman Thomas Barry Sanders type of thing. For someone that can’t skate sure looks like he finds himself on a lot of breakaways and actually scores on them. Great shot too.

Gerbe, I can’t see so well, but does that sound like Jeff Carter to you? Cartsie! Sign me up for that. Not only do I think the Sabres will pick him, he’s who I want them to pick. OHHHHHHHHH CANADA.

Why do you really like him vs other players that scouts think more of?

Should I copy and paste my take you’re responding to? Also, I think you’re going for draft analyst, not scouts. You have no idea what scouts think. Central Scouting thinks pretty highly of him. The Sabres pick 9th, not 1st

I don’t watch any hockey outside of the NHL. He stands out to me bcz of his size and you seem to take a firm stance on him. I was looking to be educated as to why. I wasn’t involved with your previous conversation and I wanted to start a fresh 1.

So if Chicago really blows it up, how many 1sts do they scoop.
- Buff36

Pretty sure patty has come out and said he is against blowing it up and trades. That could hurt them. I know they have some others that could get picks but most should be part of their rebuild

I forgot what former NHLer told a story of Mogilny in Vancouver.

During an intermission, a coach was laying into the entire team, than mogilny specifically. Mogilny reached for his cig, took a puff, and said "do you really thing I am scared of you?"

Dude could have played in 100 games, never scored a goal, and should have be in the HOCKEY Hall of Fame due to him being the first defector. His stats are icing on the cake. I don't get how he is not in.

For the record, not directed towards you, but only 11 and 39 should be retired. A mediocre franchise that has never won anything, has waaaaay too many numbers up there. However 89 would be 3rd on my list.

- Mentalorgasm5

Maybe people have different opinions on turning your back on your homeland?

What he did was courageous, but it was all about alex mogilny. He didnt defect for anyone but himself, leaving his family open for brutal retribution.

That alone doesn't get you a free ticket to the hall of fame. IMO

Then he was affraid to fly 😐

Again if they blow it up. I mean Cat and Kane would bring in 1st++. If Murphy is healthy I could see him getting a late 1st. Chicago could be a team to watch

Pk88 as a UFA in 2023.

Nah, just a guess

I did hear that donnie has a lot more say in player roster imput than you would think, as coach.

Didn't UPL get hurt? Figured he would've gotten the starts at the end otherwise.

The Quinn thing was interesting. It looked like he was stick around for the rest of the year. I guess they used his injury as an excuse to slide his ELC?

Yes UPL got hurt for the 80th time in 2-3 years

Besides Pegulas love affair with Kane. Keep him away from this roster. If we trade or sign him. That is pegula playing NHL 23 GM mode again.

I genuinely wonder if this is being factored into their plans, short and long term.

The conventional thought has always been that he'll start 30-35 games behind another starter...but he could just as easily miss that many games.

I think he's in that group of guys where even if they're a bit unsure, a decision needs to be made sooner rather than later on whether to move on while value is relatively high, or double down on development.

That's why that Holtby crap makes sense, bring back Anderson for emergency purposes and he can help with UPL

Sure, let's not sign a nhl legend 🙄

When pk88 inevitably ends up elsewhere, is that gm playing video game mode?

If we had to pay for pk88 ourselves ( out of my wallet) and not use pegulas bucks, maybe I would think twice about signing pk88.

If hes a ufa in 2023 and he considers buffalo, fans should be ecstatic.

Josh allen wasn't good until week 6 last year
Olofsson is a pylon
Vaslevsky is not elite
Dont sign pat kane, video game mode if you do

There are multiple players on the roster they could be proactive in making decisions on, but it sure seems like they're all in on giving young players years to perform, and if they end up not performing, they're going to accept that the player's value is considerably depreciated.

Week 6 since of last year? Wrong year grandpa I said week 6 vs the Seahawks he learned how to beat zone defense and became a complete QB. He struggled with that for the longest time. So you are wrong

And yeah I said the rest. Everything I said was correct.

Olofsson is not a great skater and a one trick pony on the PP. 1000% correct

Vaselesky is good but had an all star team in front of him for years. How is that wrong? The roster is still loaded. Stamkos. Point. Kucherov hedman cirelli killorn sergechev palat. Not to mention the good players that have left that team due to cap issues

Kane doesn’t fit the timeline

Way to be wrong about literally everything I’ve said. Sick burn Bro 😎

Never extending your players beyond team controlled years is a kind of decision.

Except Hurt28. He's the kind of guy you break rules for.

Tampa and Colorado could play each other again next year in the finals.

If Tampa goes again next year and wins, they're a Dynasty, imo.

Are Golden State Warriors a dynasty?

Id be surprised if we didn't see at least one. It actually makes it easier for them to evaluate the younger talent properly by giving the consistent roles, which they could do if they cleared up the log jam up front a bit.

At minimum I think they'll discuss extensions with cozens/thompson to see where they are at.
