This interview wasn't exactly my favorite interview. He's consistent with his messaging, but just being high on Craig Anderson is (frank)ing lame. He explains why, but it's still lame. It sounds like they've been very active with trade talk, so that's interesting I guess. He sheds no light on the Olofsson negotiations, but they're ongoing.

Said they've had good conversations with him and his agent, and that Victor "certainly knows how we feel about him".

I'd say that's positive news.

I'd rather him insinuate that they're trading him, but he'd never do that unless it was public knowledge like Sam, Risto and Jack.

With the draft and free agency coming up quickly

Seems like a three year extension could have easily been worked out by now

If he was in their long term plans

So what expensive player on the decline has 1 or 2 years left on their deal?

Teams make deals at the 11th hour up to free agency all the time. I'm not worried about that part so much. Olofsson's camp could be stalling every bit as much as the Sabres are. We have no idea.

I don't anticipate a very exciting offseason, especially in free agency, but I don't think it's because they're being intentionally cheap either. I do believe there's a plan in place here. My problem is that I don't see that high of a ceiling when it all comes to fruition, especially up front.

I agree with all of this.

They had 11 months to work something out though

2 or 3 conversations should have wrapped it up while 16 other teams were competing for a cup

Isn't that how negotiations work? The leverage changes as the clock winds down.

I would think they, meaning the sabres, would have wanted to get it worked out before the draft and ufa begins

instead we get leaked stories he may not be in their plans

Seriously get over it dude. Just like you can't get over that a man's marriage failed and he married a hot waitress.

You haven't explicitly stated as much but we all know you hope she dies. And there's no way to deny it.

Idk man. You say ban-worthy stuff almost daily and truth be told, it's a runaway tie between you and Fitz for daily groaning on this blog for legitimately posting the same God damn thing over and over ad nauseum.

Go tend to your fish, and stop hijacking the blog every damn day, thanks.

I feel like he wants decent money and term. Which i don't have a problem with as he's proved to be a good producer.

Something like 5x5 ?

Or someone's bullsh!t opinion? There's a fine line between it, yet many on here can't seem to grasp that.

See, to me, that's lame. But at least it sounds like we'll get 'a guy' and a decent pick. So.. whatever I guess. Hopefully the move is more 'he's useful but we need the money' and not 'here's Sean Monahan'.
- TheSabresTaco

The whole offseason plan sounds lame.

Boston is aging fast, Florida is going to have to shed players, Tampa just went through three straight grueling seasons and have multiple players who might have surgery and miss part of next season (this is speculation but I’d expect it)

The time to pounce is now.

Why can’t the GM come out and say the goal is to put the best possible team on the ice to compete for the postseason?

Instead we get to argue about Craig freaking Anderson
