If you trade any of those guys with Dorion you won't have to retain anything and you will get back much better than any of your best return scenarios. |

Leafs top 6 salaries are 65% of cap. Tampa is same as Leafs at 65%. Colorado is 51% but need to make big signings this year and next.
Rangers are a really good young team. Their top 6 eats up 60% of cap and they have multiple signings they have to make this year and next. Reports that Panarin is unhappy and has shared cross words with Chris Drury may have something to do with the fact that Panarin eats up 14% of the cap. Rangers will try to move him.
Muzzin at $5.63m takes up 7% of the Leafs cap. He is the lowest cap hit of the Leafs top 6 salaries.
Would a Muzzin for Matt Murray deal work? I think the Leafs should pass on that offer.

Nah, I am getting use to it. They blame Dorion for Tkachuk, Chabot, Norris, Sanderson, Fromenton and Steutzle as well as all the other kids the Sens are stocking up on.
I think they are also upset with the fact that the Leafs were able to dump Connor Brown on an unsuspecting Dorion. |

Oh Hell NO.
Leafs will wait and see if the Sens buy him out. Only then, will they consider signing him below 1M as a show me type of deal. |

Yes. Murray has been total wash out as a starter. No contender would want to risk having him as a #1 without a very good alternative plan. Pretty sure a Muzzin/Murray flip is possible using the buy out provision. However good chance both teams take a sober second thought and ask themselves if this just digs the hole deeper around some bad contracts.
Sens are going to trade the #7 pick, that is close to an iron clad guarantee. Watch for them to try and include one of Murray, Colin White or Zaitsev and perhaps some other picks or prospects to acquire an "A" list player.

Crouse reminds me too much of Ritchie. Wouldn't want to pay that high of a price just to find out he's a bad fit. If I'm doing something like Sandin + first + Kerfoot, I'm shooting for a JT Miller or similar. - joel878
Pass on Kerfoot.
Nylander, 1st, Sandin, Robertson is a realistic starting point on Miller.
You can’t get the only JT worth a damn in the country without paying the piper. |

Weird, i thought they blamed Dorion for getting little to nothing for Mark Stone, trading and signing Murray to that awful contract, actually giving something to take a cap dump like Hamonic instead of getting something to take him, drafting Tyler Boucher in the top 10, keeping a coach that likes big slow pylons on defense and overplays them, taking a bad contract in Zaitsev and having the coach overplay him. The Dadonov no trade list debacle. I'm sure there are more things i forgot.
If i was a Sens fan, i would have problems with the GM for all those things. |

Lots do. Others see an incredibly deep pool of young players and prospects that are very close to being a playoff contender and a very hard out in the playoffs. Sens' kids are big, physical and they have lots of speed.
Going to need another year to see if it all comes together.

I think the Leafs would want Dorion to sweeten the deal with an elite Dman like Zaitsev. |
