This! Giroux gave his all on the ice. You don't put up the career numbers he put up if you are dogging it. I think the Flyers issues, as mentioned in my previous post, are much greater than the players. Nearly every dept of the organization is lacking competence.

Looking back, you can’t argue against the return when jettisoning Richards and Carter, but none of the new pieces were snipers, either. Giroux was a top not set up man for years, and never got that killer he needed other than perhaps a year of Jagr, and we saw that they melded well together.

The team hasn’t really had a true elite goal scorer since Jags, and probably Gagne before that. That can’t fall on Giroux. He was a Craftsman ratchet with limited extensions.

Tortorella has no idea factually if the locker room is splintered. What he does is he breaks everything down. Down to the ground to build it up the way he wants it. That's his team building method of coaching. Similar to a drill Sargent in the military. He's assuming that there is locker room issues because typically in a losing environment, there is some of that.

exactly when its currently planned...lol Put yourself in his position. If a doctor tells you physical therapy may help or correct this vs surgery, what do you do. My sister has something similar and physical therapy helped and is helping. I've not had surgery on my back but on other things. I personally would always try the physical therapy before going under the knife.

But we also don't know exactly what the conversations Joel had with his docs.

Exactly. Look no further than yesterday with the overreactions. I know myself as a person. Even when I’m hurt and probably need to be looked at, especially heading summer or vacation time. I don’t wanna get checked out and get bad news. For all we know Farabee hid his injury until he couldn’t anymore.

I'm not sure in what world offering the factual evidence of Giroux's performance over a decade in a border line hall of fame career and becoming the 2nd all time in points as a Flyer, is a semantics argument. You ignore it and move to fallacies because the facts aren't on your side. Like most typical fans who criticize and blame Giroux. Anything further is just wasting my time.

Honestly, I find people’s reactions to this very interesting. In season, when Provorov says (paraphrasing) he thinks the issue is the team looks at issues differently and need to all get on the same page, some cry foul, “whiner and trade him.” When Atkinson and then Torts says he thinks the locker room is fractured, they all need to be together as a team, the same folks cry “we knew it.” Honestly, to me it is the same thing that was said. Funny that the target automatically becomes Provy, not Atkinson who says the same thing. Strange that there must always be a target, too. Hopefully, Torts can evaluate and think for himself.

I have no doubt that the locker room is splintered and has been splintered for a few seasons now. The results on the ice speak for themselves, as well as comments from Fletcher and Yeo this past season. I think one of the things that got Torts this job was that he has a track record of rooting this sort of thing out of a locker room. I do expect things to get worse before they get better, with some players being traded to set the tone.
