I'm aware of that. I'm also aware of what Tortorella does when he first arrives on a team.
- MJL

lol, if you were aware of that then why did you post the first nasty comment about Torts knowing about the lockeroom?

It’s ok to be wrong sometimes, builds character.

Tortorella has no idea factually if the locker room is splintered. What he does is he breaks everything down. Down to the ground to build it up the way he wants it. That's his team building method of coaching. Similar to a drill Sargent in the military. He's assuming that there is locker room issues because typically in a losing environment, there is some of that.

Dude are you that much of a Moron you don't know how to spell the word Sergeant?

Now i know why i detest your posts, you're a blowhard who thinks he is smart!!

Anytime a knife is involved in the spine or neck, no guarantees of full recovery for any human.

Let's hope he is a success story as well as Eichel.

And both the best player, and the top young skilled player now fit this description. Not to mention the defenseman that was traded for has played 4 games, and who knows when he will play again.

Throw in being cap strapped, and incompetent ownership/management and you have the bottom feeders they have become.

Disagree that Giroux was virtually invisible in the playoffs. That's not correct. That 04 team was 1st in the division and 3rd overall in the Eastern conference. LOL. They had talent and Primeau had a quality supporting cast. Blaming Giroux for the last decade in any manner is asinine.
- MJL
You must really be a Giroux lover to say that blaming Giroux in any manner is asinine. Yes, they lacked talent for the most part, but he is not completely free of blame. Take a guy named Crosby. Anyone that played with him instantly became a better player. I never really saw Giroux elevate other player's games. How many coaches? Something has been amiss with this team for a looooooong time and I don't think it's just lack of talent.

Yep, Giroux couldn't single handedly overcome the lack of overall talent surrounding him over that decade. Despite having Hart trophy level seasons and putting up 100 points. So lets question his leadership qualities.
- MJL

Giroux has never played for Team Canada at the Olympics. That alone shows he is not an elite player even for Canada, and his playoff track record shows the cancer he is ....ask the Panthers.

Your ego and bloviating knows no bounds.
How do you know what he does?
Have you followed him and his career at each stop from his coaching beginnings?
But you said he was out of touch at his presser.
What is it? Is he in touch or out of touch!!

I have two questions for you.

One, how is this comment nasty?

"Tortorella has not set one foot in the locker room. How has he discovered that the locker room is fractured?"

Secondly, and most importantly, how am I wrong?

Giroux pretty much put the team on his back and carried them to the playoffs in 17/18. I've seen Giroux elevate many players over the years. You must really be a Giroux hater not to see that.

Because you said it Master!!
You said he is out of touch...Remember this post Mr reading Comprehension?

He's not out of touch, he know thats not the situation but he knows fans are like that when the team is good which is considered his job to do. The fact is Flyers fans are pationate and if we have a team that performs like the 2004 team and gets to the 3rd round, the building will be like that again.

Torts will need to turn this team from Water to Wine to get there though
- xShoot4WarAmpsx

He is out of touch but it's okay. He's talking up the franchise and putting out PR. This organization's so called legacy has long since been dead. It simply doesn't exist anymore. It's ancient history. They need to build anew anyway.
The bold is you speaking mr blowhard!!

Yes, Torts said the locker room is splintered, and that’s the first thing he plans on correcting.
- pucks4all

I’m sure it was evident to both the former coaches and the GM the guy who actually hired Torts. These are questions and answers any guy coming in to coach a team is going to ask about in ANY professional sport. I’m sure players would have been asked to comment at the year end meetings. It’s not like a problem/splintered type of dressing room would be a state secret. This isn’t a PS4 game.
When a team sucks that bad and guys continue to lose this shouldn’t shock any one. It’s all part of the culture around the team….right now it’s not working. I’m sure Torts will address it day one.

I’d prefer to get back to the days when this was a solid franchise with a bright future….but that’s just me.

Rushing into back or neck is probably not a good thing for the player himself, never mind the team. Not saying the team is right or wrong here, just saying as a person he probably tried the easier options first. Can’t blame him for doing all his homework on a delicate situation.

This is actually really good news for the Flyers. It could signal another season where injuries save the Flyers from their own incompetence.

I do not think it is the Doctors that should be in question. To me it is the process before and after the Doctors. UPENN has some of the best. Again it comes down to the Flyers incompetence.

hey but Fletcher admitted they needed to change the medical view

Only going by what someone said on here yesterday. They said based on his comments that he thinks the locker room is fractured and needs to be repaired. I'm not sure where he got it from? Perhaps the locker room is already repaired with the country clubbers( Voracek and Giroux) gone?
- Phillywhiteout

calling Giroux a country clubber is like calling you an intellectual behemoth

Any type of neck injury is never good news, especially to a top6 22 year old who’s learning a new coaches system. It’s terrible news.
