Terrible band.
For whatever reason you know there's always one group or artist you hate for no reason. For me it's them. - Jkuzzi
lol they are far from terrible dude and the original line up had some solid musicians. The band was never the same after Izzy Stradlin, Duff McKagan and Steven Adler left.
What I will say is the Use your Illusions 1-2 were very overrated albums. Could have been one album really with 10 good tracks but they decided to milk it with a bunch of filler.
Appetite for Destruction remains one of the great rock albums. Mike Clink had major influence with the band on that record and produced an absolute gem. You can't take that away from them.

I don't really care for any of their other stuff, but this album from beginning to end rocks. With the base on this album it is the link between Hair / Glam Metal and Grunge.

UYI 1-2 had some great tracks, but again could have been one very good album with 10 solid tracks. Appetite is just killer from front to back. Not a dog on that album really. Technically one of the last pure 'rock' albums if you will.

UYI 1-2 were too self glorified GNR like Creed for my liking. And too many good alternative albums and bands dropped right at that time and it was plowed under.

Well personally I wouldn't liken it to Creed as Creed was much more formulaic rock than GnR. The Grunge/Alternative movement produced some awesome stuff but much crap as well. Arena rock was declining huge in the late 80's as it was getting so saturated. The Cycle continued as Grunge/Alternative didn't last very long in the 90's but made it's mark. My Brother and I actually saw GnR oper for Maiden in the late 80's on the Seventh Son tour. GnR were horrible live and after 7 tracks Axl dived into the crowd and tried to beat up some guy for tossing a shoe on the stage. Maiden as usual were unreal good live. But at the Saddledome at that time Metal and Arena rock was basically dead and there was barely 7000 asses in the seats in a 20,000 seat Arena. Kinda like a reg season Dallas Stars game attendance lol

How good has Palat been for Tampa. Damn that kids good. He’s having more of an impact in the finals than any other Tampa forward. 7th round pick. - LeftCoaster

Surprised Maiden still only drew 7000. - carsonagenic
80's metal and Arena Rock was dying a rapid death. They sell out everywhere again now and great to see the kids embracing it but is was sad for awhile there. I saw Metallica in the late 80's as well and the crowd literally booed the Cult off the stage as they were the opening act. A very bad match by the concert promoters at that time lol
