Three things.
1. You draft a few really good players a couple years in a row, probably competitive for a while sooner or later
2. Competent management is hard to find.
3. I don't think this has anything to do with Canadian teams.

Unlike some, I am apprehensive about this mgmt group and will not be waving pom-poms likes some others tend to do.
I have cheered for this team, since just before Dale Tallon was the Canucks 1st ever draft choice, doesn't mean I have to like everything they do.
I Remer back in the day, when players, by fans opinion, like Lars Molin and Petri Skriko were considered untouchable, yet the fanbase was fine with trading Cam Neely.

Teams always have those moments...when it makes sense is key. I'm ok with moving Miller if the return is massive. Massive...and I mean a first, good roster player and an excellent prospect for a 100 point player. But if all we get is a first and not much else I'm not great waiting another 5 years to see if a first rounder pans out when we have an excellent player already here. Folks with the 'long Bennings' here need to chill out. There is nothing wrong with keeping Miller here for next season to see where the club is at TDL. Bennings mess won't be that hard to clean up at least it wasn't Gillis with 11 NTC clauses...

Teams in Canada are getting back into the fold and becoming a threat in the PO's. EDM, TO, CGY and even Van should all be in the PO's next year. Gary won't like that and the only 'coincidence' or 'design' is how Gary's refs handle the show. As we are seeing this year and years past the reffing is getting worse and more and more suspect with every passing year. Hey...they aren't even trying to hide it anymore lol...

Absolutely. Personally I'm not into another 5 year retool under Rutherford and Co. We have most of what we need right now just need to tweak it. But if Boeser and Miller both go and the return isn't there it's yet another unwarranted delay.

3LC-4LC and a RHD that can play top 4 minutes possibly and move up/down the pairings. Start there and see what we have next season.
