The ice is bad and the next game wait is until Tuesday. Why must they wait so long between games?

Sure players have longer to rest and heal
Or at least improve a bit from playing through bumps and bruises etc sl. But is it right to have so much time off between games. I would rather have the season end already and have a longer summer vacation.

Pretty sure they play tonight after yesterday's travel day.

Edit: 7 pm CST tonight.

Nice story, but I think the Avs banning him from the arena goes too far.
- boilermaker100

Agreed, but how would they know he's in the arena if a friend buys tickets.

Lots of ways the rebuild could play out beginning in the next two weeks.

If KD trades Debrincat before the July 8-9 draft for the futures he wants, the rebuild gets off to a big start. Will trading Cat have a snowball effect resulting in Kane and/or Toews wanting out? If so, more futures could be added this summer.

If Debrincat remains a Hawk along with Kane and Toews, 2nd tier players (Murphy, McCabe, Kubalik, Strome) could be moved this summer probably returning less valuable pieces.

With or without a Debrincat trade, draft capital and prospects could be added by taking on a couple of bad contracts. (But without Cat the Hawks do have another 6.4M this season, plus say 9M in future years to leverage.)

Whatever path Davidson takes, many of the pieces won't be in place for several years. As the Hawks obtain some decent picks and prospects along the way, give them time to mature in college, the juniors, or the AHL, instead of rushing them to the NHL ala Boqvist and Dach.

I would rather they go the route of offering 1 year deals to players like Perron and trading them at the trade deadline, rather than taking on bad contracts.

There are security camera’s all over the place. Anyway’s the ban was until season ends, so tonight would be the last game of his suspension anyways.

RE:Ashes

This sounds like a pretty good way to honor fanatic fans and make some coin.

How about the league after the last game of each teams season leaves the ice up a day or two and has a paid ceremony where all who want their ashes on the Indianhead, or Maple Leaf get to come out either on that after date or after the last game of that season / post season and have everyone do it...say their names, et.

It just doesn't sound so outrageous - M int are fgloiyng out on a boat at Mad Beach (Madiera beach) and being scattered as part of the company's agreement option.

I could get some small portions and have you guys informally throw sopped in the Stadium parking lot where the building was, and where my season ticket(s) were...

Great idea. Someone give it to Jamie. She'd be happy for the extra revenue.

Better yet the team that wins the Cup could offer it up to their fans on a given day for the memorial services

Why would players like him sign one year deals? They wouldn't

Sure as replay showed Bellemare was upended with nifty stick work and Colorado scored on rush up ice which ensued.

The play may go down as a critical junction in the game. Colorado is the better team but Tampa has been hanging around and maybe they would make for a game seven

My question though is this: would not this have been reviewed in the league war room - or whatever it is called - and a penalty called? Else someone believes Bellamare was at least part dumped and part his great acting job/dive?

I would initially say, there was a penalty not called. But also Cooper and Lightning players know deep down they are not the better team. Tampa is good, but Colorado is better

I don't foresee Lightning strike (play on words). Colorado will win the coveted Holy Grail in this road game for the Avalanche.

Penalties and non penalties are not reviewable nor should they be. You would have a review stoppage every minute of the game if that was the case.

Thanks LA Hawk

On a separate topic,
You have said that LA King GM, R Blake, will not trade Byfield
Would he trade him if Dach came back to LA. Might KD want Byfield more than Dach? May or may not be tied to DeBrincat involved in the trade? Just spitballing

I guess you can win a 7 game playoff series with an inferior coach and goalie.

Jhawk let's see if kd actually does trade Debrincat even if the trade demands are met? And if dach is on the opening night roster plus I curious if Seth Jones get moved or at least if team inquiries about him. I know the Ottawa supposedly have interest so we will see what happens. Should a really interesting offseason for the Hawks and the rest of the league. Imo there will be 4 blockbuster trades and one including the hawks.

It'll be interesting to see how the Avs retool, they really do remind me of the 2010 Blackhawks, all these free agents and MacKinnon being a free agent in 2 years.

Yeah, but the core will still be around for a bit.
