- nyrangers2 Panarin was very good in the regular season and lived up to his contract. However 5v5 his play slipped in the regular season and was very underwhelming in the post season. They need better players on his line that fit his skill set. Tough to do up against the cap
Panarin has to make the players around him better, granted he isnt Christ so there was no helping Hunt. |

I just heard the Blackhawks beat writer say that “Toews favorite linemate was traded” when mentioning Panarin back in the day..He also said he was pissed when that happen and we’ll be more pissed if Debrincat is traded.
Drury needs to make a deal for him, he is perfect for the rangers right now. Half retained is a simple trade in this case and figure out the return. You can probably start with Nils and Georgy because they don’t even have a goalie signed for next year currently, and go from there
To me it sounds like Kane will stay and Toews will be moved (listening to his tea leaves) |

Why it’s one year?
He’s perfect to fill in for now imo. He’s Panarins boy |

50% sounds great, but no one every actually retains 50%. It’s a pipe dream |

Suppose he insists on going to the rangers? They say ok you must retain 50%. It’s one year. They’re rebuilding they don’t need the space this year
This one is not a pipe dream imo. And it isn’t necessarily a dream lol as it’s more of a solution to next season. His best days are behind him but who cares. Just give me one damn season of good hockey with Panarin |

I’d be 100% on board with bringing in Toews at 50%, I just don’t see it happening. Maybe 25% is more realistic and they take Nemeth back? Still don’t think we have enough space for that. |

They have 25 million in cap space I highly doubt they’re signing huge paydays to anyone, especially now. No one is going to want to go there anyway |

Kreider Zib Goodrow
Panarin Toews Kravtsov
Laf Chytil Kakko
Hunt Rydahl Blais/Reaves
I could get one board with that even though there’s about a .0001% chance of it happening. |

Ya but what it would cost us to get them to pay him 5+ million to play for us would be insane. I’m thinking to retain 50% they’d want Nils Cuylle++ |

Have to take into account the player now tho. He’s not really performing at that 10 million dollar level anymore
Rangers would have the hammer too. I don’t think it would be crazy |

The cost of them retaining 50 percent will be a 1st or second rounder. Its 5 miilion that they are paying for him NOT to play for them. He isnt the player who will push us over the top. Id save that pick for a trade deadline acquisition who can push us over the top. Id rather resign Strome or Copp for that 5 million that we would pay Toews. |

I think the one thing they need to be careful with is term for guys. If Chytil, Miller, Laf, Kravtsov, etc blow up next year (that’s your core when the Zibs and Panarins are gone), what do we do then? that’s when we’re screwed. I love Copp but I think he’s priced out for us, for a couple reasons |

I’m fully on board with giving Miller/Laf 8 year deals and Chytil a 5 year deal. |

I dont have much faith with Kravs. He didnt exactly light it up in the KHL this year so who knows. He will need time to adjust or they will trade him. I think the three players get some kind of bridge deals. I dont know if Drury will sign any of them to long term deals now. |

I don't know what to feel about Kravstov anymore. I think I've touched on every emotion at some point. He was the one I was most excited about the year he first came to camp. Now, I really think he could still put it together, but...
As far as production goes, remember that the KHL is a far more defensive league. Only 3 guys scored over a point per game this year. Hell, Shesty racked up 27 shutouts in 1.5 NHL seasons worth of games! VK had 13 points in 19 games and a plus 4. I think we all saw flashes of what he could be, if he has become coachable. |

I’m excited about Kravtsov, I think he puts up 50-60 pts this year. Even in the limited time we saw him you could tell he was going to be a very good player. He should’ve handled last year differently but what’s done is done. |

If he doesn’t, will we blame the player or ourselves for setting the bar too high? 95% sure we’ll blame the player.
Rinse, wash, Kakko, Laf, repeat. |

If Laf doesn’t hit 50 next year with top 6 minutes full time and Kakko at least 40 I think it’s fair to be concerned big time. That’s with them staying healthy all year |

Depends, if he’s playing on the 3rd line with Gauthier Hunt and Goodrow we can’t judge him. If he’s in the top 6 he has to prove he belongs |

It’s just a big ask for essentially a rookie to step in and score 50-60pts, regardless of who he’s playing with. That would put him in the Calder conversation.
I think he can come in and be productive, but will hold back on rookie of the year expectations. Consider me someone who prefers to have upside rather than only downside, I suppose. |

I get he’s a “rookie” but out of the top 12 in his draft class Kravtsov 20 games and Hayton 94 are the only 2 players not over 100 games so far. I don’t consider him a rookie even though I guess he technically is. |
