well he did play really well for his country, gotta give him that... - Pat1993
Ok here’s an idea…bring in that coach as an assistant.
I know he has another gear, him and Perry were pretty good, just to get him to go to it every shift, that’s the issue.
The one that I have anyway.. |

For sure, ain’t gonna cost me nothing, or you, unless you’re Pat Molson.
Imagine if Armia had Gallagher’s mindset..

you'd get Anderson, when he's on his game..?
but hey maybe Armia will buy in the St-Louis vibe as well and get things going, who knows... |

yeah it's insane how the coaching change was night and day for him, the effect was immediate. - Pat1993
Who was coaching the Habs in the Finals?
Caufield was doing great…
Ducharme is far from being my favorite but I find it easy to put it 100% on him…
Caufield scored more under St-Louis but the kid is still a big liability in his zone…
He will need to develop a minimum on this… |

oh I've never really considered myself a "Ducharme hater", he was pretty much destined for failure with what happened to the team after the finals. but for Caufield the contrast with when St-Louis came in during the season is pretty undeniable. sure he has some work to do in his own zone but you're not sending him out there for defensive missions, you want him to do what he's good at, which is score goals.

Just saying that the contrast between the Caufield playing for Ducharme in the playoffs and St-Louis when is took over is not as big as people are thinking…
Every coin has two sides…. Maybe Caufield decided to just play better to impress St-Louis and put all his failure on Ducharme…

I really don't get the rhetoric going around that the Habs are going to have to add a pick to get a team to take Petry.
I understand that the first 50 games of last year were a cluster (frank), for well documented reasons. But the guy has been a solid and highly productive D man for years... and he regained his form somewhat under St. Louis. I get that we won't get the moon for him in a trade because of his contract status, but he is still a highly serviceable defenceman. - Distrad
He's 34 with 3 years lefts at 6.25mil with a NTC and NMC having the worst season in his career. |

That's just how you're trying to spin it.
He's also an experienced defenseman with proven top 4 solid play over the last 5 years, even posting close to Norris contention numbers 2 years ago and proving excellent leadership skill by playing with a broken finger and blood in his eyes all the way to the stanley cup final, playing over 25 min a game the whole way.
He's had one terrible first half of the year on a team where nothing worked for them but who would be dumb enough to think that's all he is now?
Give us the moon for him and we'll consider it.

Very interesting list that has Slafkovsky all the way to 16.

I feel like Quinn Hughes was more of a sure thing.
And he's taller than 5"8 no?

I feel like you could either be the biggest winner of the draft by taking Slafkovsky, but just as equally, be the biggest loser of the entire draft compared to any player most people consider the top 5 (and maybe even top 10).

Oh he is in both regards (a GENEROUS 5'10), he's also much more talented, but I get that watching elite skaters like Makar/Fox etc. light things up, scouts might be leaning to the absolute elite skaters and hoping they develop the rest later. |

Hutson is a homerun swing, but it's one you take outside the top 10, most likely outside the top 20 as well.
I have a feeling Toronto is grabbing him at 25, sounds like a Dubas kind of guy.
