If the refs didn’t screw us over we’d be playing the avalanche right now.
But in all honesty how good would that match up be….damn |

If it cost a 2nd and a prospect, its a total failure on Dubas part.
Thats horrible.
A 4th max - Fakepartofme
It's already a failure if he's not making it through 2 years of the contract. I don't really care if it's a 2nd round pick in 2024 or 2025. Too much stock is put into picks. I think it's worth more in cap savings to trade him than buy him out so I would give up a little more than hold onto him because I only wanted to pay a 4th round pick. |

Roman Josi actually had more first-place votes than Cale Makar for the Norris Trophy: 98-92. Extremely close ballot that Makar won.

Yeah in the regular season - jribout
Oh man come on! He is 100% the best 200foot player on the nhl. He played well in the Playoffs. He was clearly one of the best of not the best player on the ice each game. Made a difference on both sides of the puck and physically.
I get it’s frustrating, but there is a difference between a player and teams success. Just because as a team the Leafs lost doesn’t mean Matthews wasn’t good. The series was a tough one that could’ve gone either way and if the Buds got a couple more timely saves and some production (aside from one game) from the other lines - they would’ve been playing still. That’s hockey though. |

That was a crazy good year though eh! He wins for sure if Seider wasn’t unreal good as a dman. I think the position made the difference. To be that good that fast on d is crazy…I could be a bit biased here though.
Nonetheless real good year for bunting man. Works hard and deserved the recognition. |

Makar clearly deserved IMO. Far better defensive player than Josi (except for last night) |

He's been a treat to watch. Five major individual awards already is not something we've seen much of in Toronto sports, not just hockey. I can't think of an equally all-world player on the Toronto sports scene like Matthews. |

Ya man I hear ya. I was taken aback at that game 6…what like 6 or 7mins left in 3rd - Leafs limiting chances and shots all 3rd then a phantom high stick call in my opinion and then the one on Kerfoot you could easily have made a case that Hedmans move met with his twig played a part in Kerfoot stick riding up…even if good call on Hedman one the first call which was not at all good caused the situation.
In Game 7 the pick when JT scores changing the game was not good at all. That play happens all the time….plus the 10 or so that were terrible of you are a Tbay fan too but honestly from the outside looking in - Leafs we’re definitely screwed that series in Games 2,6,7 in my opinion. So much non call crap then it’s called vs Leafs (like the Marner call on McDonough) awful. |

Yeah good call on Halladay. Kawhi during that run, but not the same as a Toronto career.
Lots of great players in TO, but Matthews is on a rare level. |

I honestly don't know if I've seen another goal disallowed due to a pick like that. Seemed to be legal subsequently in these playoffs.
This adversity will just forge the hardened soul of a champion. |
