He’s only making $5.25 for one year, so he’s only worth more if the team acquiring him is ready to pay him the big bucks.
And 99 points is most likely his ceiling, which means he’s probably going down hill from here… - 1970vintage
Maybe they find a way to keep 3 good centers, such a key position. Center depth and defence is what we’ve struggled with since 1970. |

For sure worth a look.
Seems like a decent top 4 RHD defensive dman with upside.
Likely stuck down the depth chart over there. - dbot
Top 4? Haven't shown that yet. Another Troy Stecher type. He was a healthy scratch lots. |

Maple Leaf acquire Nick Foligno (F) from Blue Jackets for 2021 first-round pick, 2022 fourth-round pick.
Miller >>> Mike Foligno's round helmet offspring |

As compared.to who, Brad Hunt? - Reubenkincade
Not much of an upgrade on hunt if at all imo. |

If you can get a good prospect like a Cole Sillinger upcoming as a 3rd line center and moving up when ready, and is on ELC, works for me. |

Decent depth guy as a 5/6 and PP on the right side. Coming off a $2mil deal as an RFA. If you can swing a deal with Carolina for a 4th or so, as he has little value stuck where he is on their roster, he might sign cheap. - carsonagenic
Carolina clearly isn't going to qualify him if they said go talk to other teams. Why pay when he's a soon to be free agent by the sounds of it. |

He is nothing special, but was stuck behind a really good d core in Carolina, and might sign cheap. And Stetcher is a LA superstar 1st line dman in the playoffs... |

I'm fine with cheap but I'd say he is most likely Abbotsford bound if he signs in Van.
Edit: he can replace Bowey there. |

Cheap depth and a quick callup if needed. And with Canucks D injury history. he would be needed.
And he is better than Brad Hunt |

So I can't spark a conversation on what JT Miller might actually be worth? I put up a couple of examples of 1st being traded at the deadline of 2021, and JT is way better than any player listed. I got called a Homer by KY man with a quick throwout trade idea, and it just spured me to ask what is he worth? Once again has to be more than what we gave up, and by quite a bit IMO. |

They still need players for Abbotsford, as the recent Swedish signings, won't play in the AHL. |

I am expecting a 1st and a good young player/prospect,anything else would be gravy. |

If he signed for about 1 mil, it would be a great low risk signing. |

So my original post wasn't too far off then. I added Bean to it as he was acquired by CBJ for a 2nd and had to be exposed to waivers at the start of the year if he was not traded. If that is too much to ask, throw in Hogs. |

For sure. I am not a big fan, but he fills a role in this organization.
He is a good 6/7/8 defenseman, until this team actually gets better defensemen into the system.
At 24, he is still plenty young enough to develop.
His biggest problem was, he played for the Oilers, who are always desperate for defensemen and rushed him into the league, 2 years earlier than he should have been. |

Yep. And he made that gaff turnover in the Oiler play in bubble thingy and cost them a game. Ran him out of town on a rail. |

I doubt CBJ would trade Sillinger.
Sad when we are discussing acquiring a young player like Sillinger, who the team could have drafted last year, but for some reason, the team didn't have a their 1st. |

Pretty classless of the team, the players, especially the captain, and the fans of that fanbase. |

They might not. but you have to give to get. He played 3rd line C. 31 points -22. He has talent, be probably tops out as a 2C.
And that stupid OEL deal... cost us Dylan Guenther |
