Yup, goaltenders take time.

Some people are watching freaks of nature like Price or Vasilesvky (who had to wait a little to be a starter mind you) and think that you should expect your 22 year old goaltender to be good enough to carry the load.

Truth is, most goaltenders don't start having success in the NHL before they turn 25-26.

Look at Carter Hart, anyone losing patience with him is out of their mind, but making him "the guy" as a 20 year old was a major blunder by the Flyers. It might hurt his development in the long run.
