Hugo won’t mess with the goalie state right now, not until price’s figured out.
They’d be crazy to.. - pete26
Price is out Quite sure that's what HuGo thinks |

I do think that yes.

Considering we are most likely trading Allen at the deadline (or sooner?) our goaltending depth after a very uncertain Carey Price could quickly turn to:
Montembault
Primeau
Poulin
With Dobes in the NCAA looking good.
I feel like trading Primeau, unless the return is significant, would put us in a difficult position moving forward. - Scabeh
It has to be for a package for 2nd overall…
Primeau + Anderson + 2nd first rounder…

yep, would be pretty stupid to trade your future in net considering Price is likely done.
that being said, if you can turn a 7th round pick into the 2nd overall... my God how can you say no?

I think you can find a good replacement if Price is out which means you can afford to trade away Primeau…
For the 2nd overall, it is worth it…
Next 2 seasons is a write off anyway…

2 first rounders is a no no. Habs pick next season will most likely be top 5.
Habs own first round pick (26), Primeau and Anderson might do it. |

They will not trade that pick for Drouin and a 4th round pick…

For the 2nd overall, you would have to think. Trading Romanov would hurt them short term as well, but if you are getting a star forward, you have to think about it, yes. - deadpoulet
That's what Bergeron thought when he let Markov walk, traded Sergachev for a star forward, then turned around and said we need help at left d.
Romanov should be one of the untouchables, if there is any..

oh, I read that as 2 first round picks.
Then I think it's fair. But I also think NJ would ask for Romanov instead of Anderson. |

I don't know what NJD want, we know they need help in net and on D. There are roomers the Habs kicked the tires with NJ to see what would be the price for that 2nd overall pick but we don't know.

There's a huge gap between 2nd overall and 26th. I think it's a fair offer to be honest.
Remember that Primeau was a 7th round pick to start with. |

Really depends how good you think Romanov is vs how good you think the guy at number 2 will be. It could be worth it down the road. |

2 pieces only would mean Caufield and you don’t want to do that…
This is why it is so hard to trade for a top 3 pick…
But this year, I think there is a possibility…
Read this:
So how did Burke pull off the trade to draft both Sedins? The main piece of the puzzle was trading McCabe, the strong defenseman acquired in the Linden trade, to the Chicago Blackhawks. McCabe and a future first rounder landed Vancouver the Blackhawks first round pick, which was number four in the draft. Now Burke had two top five choices, but he needed to make sure that neither Tampa Bay nor Atlanta would snatch one of the Sedins at number one or two. Burke traded two later round selections and the number four pick to Tampa Bay to move into their number one slot, and then sent a pick to Atlanta to allow the Thrashers to move to number one with an assurance they would not pick a Sedin. That left Vancouver with the number two and three choices, which landed them Daniel and Henrik, respectively.
Not easy but not impossible…. |

how about
Hoffman + Armia + 1st for 2nd overall
NJ takes Sly, we get Wright at 2nd and two bad contracts off the books

What NJ wants is 2023 Habs first round pick but hope they will never bite on that one…
Next year Habs will most probably be a top 5…. Having the chance to have you name in the hat for Bédard is something too valuable… |

would be fun to be there for the first round and see MTL pick 3 times but not at those price. Enjoy your couch, the analysis from Craig Button and the online casino ads every 3 min for 2hrs - Symba007
I'd rather sit comfortably on my couch, with something to do between the ever-slow-first-round-picks.... even listening to talking heads or hearing awkward interviews from the picked players or whatever.
After the first pick, I would likely be bored waiting for something exciting to happen, and when it does, it is likely going to be something stupid like a team announcing some 4th round pick swapped this year for a 4th round pick next year...
Yeah, I am (frank)ing old and grumpy.
Better not be a cloud in the sky, or Imma start yelling at that, too.
