Did I read that there was a belief that Torts isn’t good with young players? I don’t know how true that is, I remember Michael Del Zotto being the next big thing under Torts until Torts wasn’t around anymore. LeCavalier, St Louis, Boyle and Richards were all young guys who ended up winning a Cup under Torts. Wasn’t that the beginning of the NHL getting younger to win (Not saying Torts started it). My problem with signing I Tortorella is, he’s a guy I would have wanted at his most obnoxious 10 or 15 years ago. To me getting him now while our team is in rough shape is like signing a great player long passed his Heyday. Like how the Red Wings signed Daniel Alfredson or Mike Modano.
