I don’t think the Flyers are a dying franchise, but the bloom is certainly off the rose. This was a franchise that had prestige and luster in the city, built up through decades of sustained success. They’ve now squandered it after a decade of spinning in their wheels.

In just the last few seasons, they’ve fired two coaches and one general manager in mid season and his replacement GM is on thin ice. One of the greatest and most tenured players in franchise history just left having won one playoff series since becoming captain. It’s been a very dispiriting decade of hockey.

I don't disagree with this sentiment. It's been a very discouraging 10 years for this franchise, but to say that they are totally irrelevant and a dying franchise are just idiotic rantings of some dude that's probably still wearing diapers. I mean, if the state of this team was truly as bad as that ingrate portrays would a coach such as Torts come here? NO!! Thanks!

I agree they’re not at the point of being irrelevant…having management willing to spend and be proactive in the FA Market will always generate some buzz. The deep pockets will only be able to keep peoples attention for so long when the same results keep happening.

And there it is...the little boy has finally popped his lid as he always does when he finally figures out that he's always in over his head when it comes to discussions with me. Hey dumbass, did you know that Trotz isn't ready to make a decision and he is taking his time? If you actually knew anything about the sport of hockey you'd know this. The Flyers wanted an answer cause they wanted to move on one way or the other. Of course, you probably know nothing about business either! Now get that thumb out of your mouth little boy.

When I'm right you say it's an excuse. You are a pathetic little man. Guess we'll find out if it's an excuse if Trotz decides to go with someone else quickly. I've even heard that it's possible that he might take the year off. Ok, though....let's stick to your agenda and how the Flyers are a dying franchise while the blowhard Sixas are the best there ever was. How many chips has that stupid ass process brought them? Let me count em all up for ya....ZERO!! NADA!! ZILCH!! NONE!! Go Flyers! Thanks!!

Buckle up boys and girls your in for a wild ride! Imo torts is a good coach but his style gets old after a while.I’m sure you all know the rangers were the “black and blue shirts” when he coached there. He will find “ his guys” and everybody else will have to fall in line and back check block shots and do the dirty work. It will work with some players not with others he is upfront and tells it like it is! ( like he sees it).will it work? I think it will it depends on the roster. One thing is for sure any player that has thin skin and can’t take criticism should play for another team!.

He can look to move players such as Konecny and Provorov. Give up assets to move JVR. This guy is dangerous.
- MJL

I think he can be moved if you retain money. At 7mil no, but at 3.5 I think you can move him but you won't get a ton back. Maybe a 4th-5th rounder?

Maybe you could find something where you move JVR and get back a cheap vet defender for your 3rd pair with York.

Torts is a good coach when your team is winning.

Imagine being yelled and screamed at every day and then knowing you are going to lose more often then not.

From an outside I don’t quite understand this move. Torts is not a rebuild coach, and to me trading Giroux should have been the start of that. It seems like the flyers are going to be stuck in no man’s land.

I think Buffalo and Philly could be good partners here. JVR retain some celery for Jacob Bryson.

They are obviously in a cap crunch, not entirely sure of our cap situation but maybe you can get TJ Brodie for JVR half retained. Solid Dman for two years and they get the cap relief they need.

Here is my arm chair gm moves. laugh if you want but what I kind I would try to clear some cap and reshape the roster. You can discuss and tell me if it works or not.

To Ottawa: Konecny, 5th overall
To Philadelphia: 7th overall( Jonathan Lekkerimaki), 2022 2nd rounder, Jacob Bernard-Docker

Ottawa gets a top 6 winger to play with Stutzle who they have at center and move up a little

Philly clears some cap, gets an extra 2nd rounder and also a defenseman in Bernard-docker who could be a solid d prospect while not a top end guy.

To MIN: JVR(50% salary retained)
To Philadelphia: Dimitry Kulikov, 2022 4th rounder

Minny gets some scoring at 3.5 for one year.

Philly gets a 3rd pairing defender to play with York whose has experience and who has one year left at 2.250mil.

So I cleared out about 6million in cap, got an extra pick, still drafted a sniper at 7 and got a 3rd pair defensman for this year and defense prospect.

Drafting outside of the bottom 3 for this coming draft will be malfeasance
