People complain that Torts will have the Flyers playing responsible, "boring" hockey. The gripe with him I've heard is that he doesn't grant elite/offensively gifted players the freedom to be themselves... Thing is, the Flyers don't have any of those kind of players!

Almost a year later I still chuckle about the people who defended the Ristolainen trade because Buffalo had a revolving door of coaches. When Risto plays his 67th game for the Flyers he will already be on his 3rd head coach here. He's already played nine straight seasons where his team struggles defensively and misses the playoffs, and last season was actually his worst in points per game scoring since his rookie year.

I’m failing to understand what Ristolainen being on his third coach as a Flyer, has to do with Risto being bad alone? Seriously, someone decode this post for me. The next hire will also be Atkinson, York and Frost’s third coach since being here. I understand anyone who hates the trade for what the Flyers gave up but blaming him for the awful defense as a whole and singlehandedly being the coach killer? Is this what I’m reading?

Vegas’ cap is still a mess. They’re still over the the limit and they have nearly 35% of their cap tied up in just 3 players.
