Let’s grind baby, playoff bubble team for 3 years is exactly what this team needs |

Thanks, Bill. I’m glad it will be Torts behind the bench. Post-game pressers will be far more insightful than they have been in the past few decades, but more importantly I believe Torts will command accountability throughout the lineup. |

No doubt about that. This team just has no business “going for it” |

They suck and should be selling anything with value for picks. Draft as high as possible for several years while resetting the cap.
They just don’t f’ing get it. |

Well, at least Torts doesn't have to worry about any of the Flyers being skilled enough to pull off the Michigan.

Tortorella is fine. He will hold players accountable, it won’t be boring with him. He comes with a shelf life but most coaches do.
The lack of talent, and the incompetent GM is way more of an issue than the coach. |

Agreed, look at your players and figure out who you think fits moving forward. Move everyone else, sign a few veterans to ice a team and finish near the bottom. |

Rarely do I agree with you. But this is the case.

Chuck takes the easy lazy hire route. What a shock.
Please mention flyers hockey at the presser when he is announced. |

We should be so lucky that a coach as successful as Tortorella wants to coach this team right now. Here’s to hoping he can get everyone on the same page. |

I'm kind of surprised that Torts would come to Philly given the current state of things. Perhaps he's not as wanted as some folks think? I'm fine with him being hired cause it won't be boring most likely and it might work out without the two head country clubbers(Voracek and Giroux) gone! Lightning in a bottle baby!! Stanley Cup here we come!! |

Tortorella will do well here.
He demands responsible two way play. Something the Flyers desperately need.
He's also not afraid to sit somebody. Also what the Flyers need.
I like it. |

Wasn't AV supposed to hold players accountable? Time to move out the rotten core as this is what coach #?
You have a roster that isn't good. So what will a good coach get from it? From bottom 5 to 10-15 range? That is fn impressive.
Then as noted you have a GM who flat out is not good. Guy has shown no pulse on how to put a winning team together. He is clueless.
Also hope they pay torts more than AV.

Ask yourself why does he want to coach this team?

The lack of talent, and the stiff in the GM position kind of renders the coach meaningless.

I thought Yeo was usually quite insightful postgame, and especially good after practices. That was never the issue. |

Yup, Yeo, AV, Hak and Chief all demanded a lot of things, benched plenty of players... but at the end of the day, if the kids don't all take a big step forward, if dudes like Carter Hart and Provy can't keep their heads on straight for an entire season, and if Ellis still can't play, then wtf is Torts gonna do that other guys haven't already tried? Yell and scream louder? |

Not meaningless. Just an odd choice when you look at the roster and players in the organization.
Just shows you how delusional they all are at this time.
