Possibly...not every company can afford to go the Target route and just dump inventory at a loss,or little to no margin. Especially ma/pa retailers who could easily go belly up if that trend catches fire.

It's really a perfect storm of $hit that I think most knew was coming that you can't continue to print money and not expect to pay the piper at some point.

I just can't wait to pay $7 a gallon in gas by Labor day..........

Thank goodness I'm getting rid of a car for about a year. Got a new job that puts me in Switzerland from Sept through about the end of 2023. All public trans for me!

Yeah I do a TON of traveling by car throughout the midwest and we are grounded unless necessary. Way too expensive to drive around and I live in will county. Feel for you all who reside in Cook.

if they could get a electronic car to hold a charge for 400 miles and recharge time similar to downtime refilling gas....I'd be in. Until then, it's just too much of a waste of time waiting an hour for a car to charge.

Never been to Switzerland. Heard good things.

Good for you, sounds like a great opportunity. I’m sure you are already aware of the cost of living there, very high.

Yea and many places don't have public transportation. Rural folks really must be getting hammered the most. I feel for them

The good news is that I'll be about 10 minutes from the ZSC Lions arena. I get to watch the likes of Sven Andrighetto and Yannick Weber in person. Jealous?

Indeed I am. Hence why I negotiated expenses into my agreement.

Watching the Hawks will be prohibitive, but I'll figure it out.

From the new Oilers blog:

In addition, the Keith retiring according to the current CBA would mean that the Chicago Blackhawks would owe the Oilers 3.4 million in cap space due to the recapture penalty. For those who remember, the Canucks were in a similar position when Roberto Luongo retired from the Florida Panthers. There is some controversy right now with this ruling (shocking) as Bill Daly has now stated that if Keith was to retire, there would be no recapture penalty, even though no specific rule has changed.

Did I completely miss the Daly statement? Big if true.

LOL, not what Daley said at all. He said there would be no "Cap Credit" to the Oilers (the additional $3.4 million on top of the $5.5 million for Keith's contract). The Hawks would still be subject to re-capture penalty, the Oilers would free $5.5 million in cap space, just no additional "cap credit". This is not the conspiracy you are looking for. Move along Oilers fans...
