Were already in cap trouble and Debrincat is only gonna hamper it more. Talk about a luxury add, he’s is definitely that - Slimtj100

I don’t get why people want to trade this kid he’s as untouchable a guy you could think of, on any team - Slimtj100
I don’t want to trade him but if you can get a 40 goal scorer and he’s part of the ask you gotta consider it right? This isn’t gonna happen anyway and I’m excited to see what Othmann brings. Not sure where he fits into the lineup but I’ll leave that to management |

I’m off that but I would say we need a LHD over a winger tho. |

They're gonna carry 6 lw's and just rotate them. |

He hates Dach if I recall. Wouldn’t that be some welcome back present |

he’s great but we get him for one year, nothing after that is guaranteed. He’s gonna get 8 million probably after next year. It’s the same thing with JT Miller.
It’s going to cost way to much in assets to boot, so I say no. A big fat no. It’s nothing against him, he’s a terrific player
We don’t need superstars. We need bottom 6 role players. Preferably bigger guys too imo - Slimtj100
Agree with u 100%. Concentrate on the bottom 6. I think the kid line could be our 2nd line and slide Kreider down to the 3rd line. He’d still get 20 min a game with the PP/PK.
Panarin Zib Kravtsov
Laf Chytil Kakko
Kreider X Othmann/Cuylle
No need to add any wingers right now. Worst case if Othmann/Cuylle aren’t ready we move Blais to the 3rd line and worry about it during the season. |

Trouba is fine. It's no one's fault that the cap is flat because of all the BS that happened the last few years. I actually am surprised the NHL hasn't artificially raised it or allowed teams to go exceed it and pay a luxury tax of sorts. |

I really hope that Laf could become a center, like Landeskog. At least in the next few years. That would help things immensely. Landy does both LW and center I believe |

I think they have to start considering this. Try both Kakko and Laf in the middle and see if it's viable. |

I would truly love for the league to have a "home grown" clause and allow a cap hit rebate on players who have been retained by their entry entry level contract team. |

The one guy I’d consider Othmann for is Lindholm from the Flames. At least he’s two years away from a bigger deal where we could probably keep him after it.
He’s under 5 million and the best 5 on 5 center in hockey. He was a +61 this year |

We have (according to cap friendly), with Nemeth gone, 16 million give or take available…..
These numbers right? close?
Just doing 22-23 season, disregarding term:
Kakko - 2.5 mil
Blais - 2.5 mil
Motte - 2 mil
Vatrano - 4 mil
Backup goalie - 1 mil
Brendan Smith - 1 mil
————
That leaves us around 3 mill for a center. 4 million without Smitty
Pretty doable no? Not sure if I’m missing someone either lol |

You're high on a few I think.
Kakko more like 2 mil
Blais will be like 1.5-1.875
Motte might be close
Vatrano better not get 4, more like 3.5-3.75
Backup goalie hopefully around 1 mil

I’m worried Vatrano will get more from someone else. Really hope we can keep him.
Blais just made 1.5 tho, idk how it works with raises. He’s off an injury year so you could be right |

We signed Blais 1 Yr 1.525
Montreal traded Weber's contract to Vegas for Dadonov, there's a chunk of cap relief for Vegas
And I think Torts signed in Phili
