Time for a little Scabeh story:

I'm coaching my son's baseball team this summer and we've started the year with 3 straight losses, which is fine because half the team had never played the sport before so they had to learn.... well everything.

We're playing St-Hubert in our 4th game and as usual, both coaches shake hands before the game and say stuff like "all that matters is the kids have fun, who cares about the score and we'll totally listen to the 13 year old ref that we have".

In my first 3 games, it mostly went smoothly.

This time, the other team broke some rules to score points and didn't want to take them back despite what the young ref asked, actually tried sending a 7th batter when it's 6 per innings... it was a cluster(frank) of an experience.

At the end of the game, kids on my team ask me if we won, I honestly had no idea since I'm too budy to manage everything to even count the points.

Official marker comes up to me so I can sign the scoresheet, I notice we win and tell the kids who are just radiant with happiness for finally winning a game.

I sign the scoresheet and I'm about to move on when I see the coach on the other side argue that the official marker has it wrong and forgot to count some points.

I actually had to step in and remind him that "we didn't care about the score right? just let them do their job".

I thought it would end there, but I got an official e-mail from the league yesterday saying the other team has filed an official contest of monday's game.

Bottom line, I just got out of a meeting with the league and that (frank)ing idiot where they confirmed the official score stands and we won.

This is going to be a fun summer, I can already tell.

Being a sports dad (or mom or Fred) seems like a poop tier job. I took my nephew to two of his 5 year old soccer games and the level of insanity from the parents vs these tiny moron humans barely able to walk 4 feet without falling down was mesmerizing.

I always get suckered in by the e-mail, 1 week before the season begins, that says "No one has volunteered to be coach and we really need someone".

Truth be told, I enjoy the role with the kids, we try and make it fun while improving their skills and it's fine.

But the goddamn parents and the attitude of other coaches, in every sport, (frank)ing baffles me.

Step down and get someone else to coach.

Then you can enjoy your summer with your son.

It's not going to end, just when you think you've met the biggest bumhole, an even bigger one comes along.

That's 100% the reason why I quit coaching.

No regrets..

unfortunately I think this natural law applies to life in general, but I guess it's better if you can avoid certain situations where you become a constant target for these assholes lol

That's probably good advice.

This being said, out of the 3 parents who raised their hands, I'm the only one that actually speaks french.

So when I'm not there, the kids have absolutely no idea what the other 2 parents are saying.

Habs/NJD/CBJ 3-way trade with a Habs forward moving?
- Symba007

don't know about a 3-way trade, but there's definitively a trade to be made with NJ, or PHI, or ARZ, or CLB, or OTT. not saying it will happen, but many different possibilties make it more probable to happen.
