Clearly not his biggest fan either, and I think it's appropriate to consider his long term fit here, but I said all along that I'd be fine as long as it wasn't a 1 year deal. That would be indecisive, cheap, incompetence.....again.

Walking away from an ARB decision would be gross negligence, and it has been hinted at by multiple hockey writers.

this olofsson thing sends a bad message if true

show up, work hard, overachieve and when it's time to pay you, pack your bags

Either through trade or FA get a solid proven goalie and they will come.

That would be next level. Just getting to an arb hearing would be a terrible mistake.

Can they ever get one of these decisions right?

Debrincat too expensive, Paternak is the better player.

Also, Power for McAvoy Taco? Yikes. I like McAvoy but Im not trading Power for anyone right now

- BeadyEyedDouche

Maybe a hot take. I'm fine with it. McAvoy is quite good.

I don't think they will walk, they may be concerned with the number but they won't walk.

Who trades Power for Makar? Is he the only defender you'd trade him for?

What Evidence Can Be Presented
The evidence that can be used in arbitration cases includes:

The player's "overall performance" including statistics in all previous seasons
Injuries, illnesses, and the number of games played
The player's length of service with the team and in the NHL
The player's "overall contribution" to the team's success or failure
The player's "special qualities of leadership or public appeal"
The performance and salary of any player believed to be comparable to the player in the dispute

Evidence that is not admissible includes:

The salary and performance of a comparable player who signed a contract as an unrestricted free agent
Testimonials, videos, and media reports
The financial state of the team
The salary cap and the state of the team's payroll

As a Sabres fan, it's easier trading picks vs. Trading a known commodity (player picked and in our system already)

Peterka is going to be a fan favorite, with his bowling ball style of playing hockey.

I'd agree though, 3 or 4 premium pieces for a talent like the cat.

How much of his play is propped up by pk88?
Everyone needs a play making center, but is the cat a sole benefactor of kane's play.

Everyone here got a huge boost playing with eichel.

Ek9, skimmer, olo, sam , pommer....

- Boss34

Yes Kane was the primary assister on many of Debrincat's goals. Of course Kane makes all his linemates look good. Some on the Chicago board feel NJ would be a good fit for Cat with Hughes feeding him the puck. Don't really know who the Sabers have who could do that.

Also, the walk-away minimum award is $4,538,958.

I can't believe I felt the need to look that up.

Dahlin-Samuelsson
Power-Joker

Dahlin Seider
Samuelsson - Joker

I think I still like our 4. Power looks like a solid 2-way already. Gotta look at upgrading Joker. I like him as a 3rd RD running that group

I'm not sure if 30 mill is accurate

Over 7 or 8 years

if he gets concussed or has a horrible injury or reverts to a 40 point player next year

it will cost him 3-4 mil per vs signing long term deal now at 7 or 8 per over 8 years

I see what your saying....

I thought you meant getting paid 3 or 4 million more than the 7 million (proposed) offer.

8 members of the 2018 Canada WJC team were accused of sexual assault, and Hockey Canada settled it. Now the NHL is investigating.

Rick Westhead confirmed a few players were not involved, including Cale Makar. There's only like three guys from that squad that aren't in or close to being in the NHL.

The roster. We don't have any players.

This is really interesting. Anonymous scouts and execs compare prospects.
