Edit: if the Sabres are seriously considering packaging Olo to move up...get to Philly's 5 spot.
- IonSabres

I would package him with 28 to get back in teens.

You are set for future. Now in 2023 forward you can think about trading our picks if you think it helps our team

He skates “extremely well”.

This is definitely not true at all. Watch the Avs players. They skate extremely well. Eichels stride is a thing of beauty.

Olofsson is not that

Is Josh Allen a good quarterback yet...?

There are a lot of NHL teams watching this Final realizing they in fact aren’t “one or two players away”

It’s why trading 1st rd picks for Gibson is laughable. Our team is prob the equivalent time period of the 2015 draft. Without drafting a #1 center. For years I heard we traded prospects and picks too soon at that draft. And people want to repeat history

The year tyler ennis led the team in scoring with 46 points?

Interesting take

2015 pre draft: three 1sts (one being Eichel who was talked about as generational. Reinhart, Zadorov, Risto, girgenson, Grigorenko, pysyk, Mcnabb, compher, just added kane at end of 2021.

Or 2022 pre draft: three 1sts (none being an Eichel talent). Cozens, Krebs, Quinn, paterka, power, Dahlin, tage, Samuelson, joker.

2022 definately a better roster but it’s not like we are a playoff team or even near one. I would say Eichel and Reinhart Trump power and dahlin. Rest of the prospects at the time had almost as much potential as our ones now.

We need to wait until 2023 to make splash moves IMO. Make some smart positive moves this year. See what we even got

I think we have quite a few pieces, but I agree, dahlin/power is not jack eichel/ sam yet.

I'm very excited about our current roster though , so my fandom is probably overzealous

I think he would be huge for one of those decent teams that struggled on pp

kings, pens and caps come to mind right away

- homiedclown

Flyers PP was beyond atrocious. No clue if any deal would on the table.

I think he's got more offensive upside than Orpik, but I can see the comparison defensively.
- Powerslave

I could see more points for Secondary assist beacuse of the forward power and Dahlin and power.

But I believe he will take a backseat and let dahlin or power do there thing

I mean, ya?

Is Philly still drunk on the Risto trade?

- SDSabre

They're not rebuilding so I could see them trading the pick .

Flyers are trying to go buffalo special and it will just burn them

Samuelsson impressed me offensively. He's a big guy that can skate.

Under donnie's system and teams drawing attention to either power or dahlin, I think samuelsson pops in 30 points next season.

Like you pointed out, secondary assists. They count the same ....

Personally I'd be disappointed if the Sabres pick another early 1st round defenseman.

How many top line defenseman do they need?

I realize the draft is to fill future needs, but we have a really young solid core , possibly still including Johnson

Only so much ice time to go around

- Boss34

I hear ya.
Yet at the same time a top 4 of Dahlin, Power, Jiricek and Samuelsson would be pretty fricking formidable.

Then, add in Yurov at 16 due to the Russian factor, or even Miro at 16...wow!

Dahlin had 31 even strength points this season. Joker had 15.

If you had to bet, wouldn't you lean closer to 15?

samuelsson is a glue player that every team needs he's just solid and you know what you'll get.

I put him in the class of Hjalmarsson, Regehr, orpik , of importance

I like the Russian angle, could really get a steal.

Seams like a tmgm gambler move vs. a KA move though IMO.

Hopefully dahlin/power/samuelsson play 75-80 minutes of the 120 available defenseman minutes.

I really like joker for 20 + more.

Only.leaving 20ish a night for the bottom pairing

Samuelsson30pts ?

I like the orpik comparison. Should have been a Sabre at some point in his career

Flyers love being irrelevant

Dreger on The Instigators says the Flyers didn’t bring in Tortorella in on a 4-year deal to help with a rebuild, expects Chuck Fletcher to swing for the fences this offseason and try to hit a couple of home runs, DD says they’re definitely a team to watch this summer.

👍

I'm hopeful the team scores more goals, as well as dahlin hopefully being 15 points better.

I get the idea that Samuelsson will jump up into the play more than joker, who had 19 points in 60 games.

Possibly more regular pp time?

We had his brother who was not good but the organization at the time did not treat him right so that's probably why

This is all going to end spectacularly awful. They have few assets and a good number of mediocre vets - they should absolutely burn it down.

That's perfect. We've been waiting for a defenseman like him since, what, Mckee?
