Ok with 1-3

Think mitts is going to have a big year
(Hope)

- Anderdog

Mitts' biggest hurdel is developing a body able to play against men for 82 games. Whenever he's been in the lineup consistently the last while he has shown the 1st round talent. He seems to have a great attitude and he's a hockey nerd. I am hopeful, too, he can stay on the ice and be 60+ points.

He, Cozens, and Krebs are all on the prove it train next season though. I know if Vic is healthy he scores me 20+, good chance at 30. I'd love to pencil that in for any of those three.

Under radar signing by the Jackets.

Would've been a sneaky trade target by the Sabres.

For which team? Seems like it may not be for the Sabres...

Basically everything that can be speculated about the Sabres' offseason has been speculated. As of now, he's our sniper, and we have more than enough space to pay him for working his way from late round pick to NHL sniper.

pick 28 and bryson

pick 41 and mitts

third round pick and olofsson

take their pick

I’m fine with 2/3. Save mitts and see what he can do. The issue with his season is that he tried to heal with rest and it didn’t work. Then he worked himself into shape and was good the last 5-6 games

He was great against Vegas March 10th. There was a shift late in the 3rd he just held the puck behind our net for about 30 seconds and no one on Vegas could get him off it. Arena went nuts.

He played at a 40 point pace, most of it while he was hurt or recovering.

(Big) if he can stay healthy, I'd like to think 50-60 points next year is realistic.

By stay healthy ….. just get the darn surgery. It was the same injury for most of the year. Surgery and rehab helped him get healthy

Gibson is not worth any of those to our current roster. We are a few seasons away from being a legitimate contender. Just sign a FA goalie. Don’t trade guys for a goalie who is 31 when we finally are good

It’d be nice to see that level of enthusiasm from him for more than just a few games a season. When Mitzy disappears, he goes full HG Wells.

There has been some talk that the Sabres’ front office is concerned about what an arbitration award would look like for Olofsson this summer. My understanding is that they feel they have younger players that could fill his role at a cheaper rate. We’ll get to that part shortly.

An arbitration award shouldn’t be anything outrageous based on his current production. It’ll likely be in the range of $4.25 million to $4.5 million. His qualifying offer would be $3.25 million, which is above his current cap hit of $3.05 million.

This disagreement likely comes into place here if the Sabres see his value as a player worth that $3.25 million range, but his award in arbitrations would be $1 million or $1.5 million higher. Logically you think to yourself the Sabres don’t need to worry about their salary cap ceiling.

While that’s true, the issue here is moving off their perceived value of a player. Regardless of the salary cap situation, they don’t want to throw off their valuations in future contract negotiations.

After watching a lot of playoff games I think it's very easy to say our Sabres need improvement in a lot of areas. We need some tough gritty forwards and defensemen that can show up every night. Signing guys like Johnny Hockey will only make this team a regular season success and that's where it will end.
Only bring in a proven goalie when the team looks like they can do damage when they make it to the playoffs

Valeri Nichushkin would be a hell of an addition to the Sabres.

He's a monster. Almost a Tuch clone.
