This is all I see Johnson as at this point. If not you'd think he would of signed by now.
- DirtyDan

Not only does his value increase after he signs his ELC, Bischel would be lower on the depth chart than Johnson. Bischel is years out.

To me it does. You don't wanna be here. Fvck off then, we'll find someone else. He's a waste of breath at this point

Have to take him at 16 or 9 he won't be available later .

He's a player that buffalo can take a risk on and let him develop in the CHL.

Ya but If we got Bichsel it pushes him down even further. I'd of asked him already to give me a couple teams where he would actually sign
- DirtyDan

Bichsel is likely 3 years away, if Johnson played the 2 season before that ('23-24, '24 - 25) to build his value; he could be a great trade chip just when the team may need to add a certain type of player to be a serious contender.

Our Blackhawk friends may not want to hear it, but I bet we could get him for just 16 and Rosen.
- TheSabresTaco

You really think we can get debricat for 1/2 eichel value?

Sure the contract situation and center position is different, but 307 points in 368 games.....

Your talking about one of the best 24 year olds in the nhl.

16OA and rosen

Plus 2 more pieces.

Johnson or a 2nd
And
Pick #9 or 2023 protected 1st

Agree. We don’t even have enough good players on our team now. I’m not too worried about having too many in 2-3 years. We can deal with that at the time

If I’m trading all that it’s for a center. We traded a wing in Sam for 28 and a project goalie. Then we are going to trade for a wing for 9 Rosen and another piece? That’s bad asset management

Until he actually walks, we don't know if this is the case. Maybe he likes school, and wants to be a kid a little bit longer before going pro and basically having a job, but also still respects that Buffalo took a chance on him and signs after. Also maybe not. I mean more than likely not, but there's still greater than 0% that he could sign here.

you're way too hung up on this.
- TheSabresTaco

nah

all signs point to minor moves, including articles for the offseason

use the picks, fill the pipeline

trade some of them off when time to pay them

Johnson has not signed here.

Looking even less likely as time goes on.

Who cares about him if he doesn't wanna be here. He has proven nothing.

Bichsel would be a sloid replacement prospect.

I would move him for an early third in this draft instead of having to wait 2 years for a late second

how may first rd picks spent 4 years in college and then signed with the nhl team that drafted them instead of testing UFA a few weeks later?

What % would you give?

And these guys don't stop being Kids. They'll never actually have a real job. Sure they mature become fathers but the majority of these players they party it up and are grown kids for the majority of their lives.
And Im not blaming em for it I wish I could be a grown a$$ kid till I'm like 40

1% IDk but I'm in an optimistic kinda mood this morning. Also, while playing a kids game for sure, I think you might be underselling how much time is involved between practice, film, meetings, games (away games as well with the travel). It's a lot. My guess is at Minny, Johnson doesn't have those responsibilities, or at the very least minimal.

The top player in the draft has put in 3 years. Cozens has 2 years. This kid has yet to sign an ELC an were going to waste our time on him still.

Fack outta here with that nonsense

Not very many (my guess would be none). But there's always a chance. IDK feeling optimistic. Kids slept through the night, woke up only mildly tired.
