I’m glad to hear the organization finally has the pecking order right. |

They should probably try and sign Malkin plus another center right? Stastny? Malkins good for maybe 60 games a season. That’s a lot of Carter 2c time. I guess the teams best stretch of hockey last season did have Carter at 2c though. |

so you think Gibson is worth 2 first and Letang/Crosby? I see - 10inchTerror
No, he's not. But he's also worth more than spare parts and cap dumps. |

ERod, that's the role I'd like to keep him for. Proved invaluable as a guy who could move up anywhere in the line up including C. I do agree I don't think Carter can. |

Oh, I agree as a general idea, but I'm talking in terms of options to move Zucker. I imagine is highly unlikely to find a team to dump is contract, so instead of retaining they can take a cheaper player back. - Rinosaur
I agree with unlikely to find a good dump just disagree on this solution.
You are not only adding a 2.75 M defenseman, but you're forcing the team to keep 8 D or waiving a guy like Friedman or POJ.
So you save 2.75 M but now you have an extra defenseman and another hole at F with not enough saved to adequately fill it.
If you subtract both Pettersson and Dumoulin first sure, that's feasible. But we need to just subtract what we pay our middle defensemen, not add to it or make a lateral salary move. Take advantage of having a cheap guy to plug in because POJ is surely more ready then any of our forward prospects except maybe DOC. |

Yeah I see a lot of Saucy going around on ACGMs on CapFriendly. Don't understand the fascination.

I believe you actually proposed Zucker for Soucy on here once lol.
It's not really a fascination, but trying to identify possible returns that make sense in a Zucker trade for the Pens to save money. Doesn't have to be him, but SEA appears like a team that would take on someone like Zucker for a year if it's worth their while.
I think Zucker and a pick/prospect could be doable.
As far as Soucy, there's nothing special, but he does fit a mold that Hexy and Burke would like, and he comes cheap.

That's fair, but Sabbath w/Ozzy is arguably one of the most influential bands of all time. Them and Zeppelin basically created/influenced metal and hard rock.
Don't get me wrong, I dig Dio, but their best music was written before he took over. |

Agreed, but influential does not equal good/better. I guess Ozzy Sabbath is too sludgy for me, more doom metal whereas Dio's influence was more of the epic/fantasy metal (Elf, Rainbow).
Also, please, for the love of Odin, stop referring to Led Zeppelin as "metal." They were hard rock for hippies. If you want to say they influenced metal, I'll give you that. But bands like Deep Purple were more metal that Led Zeppelin. |

Oh I did, but I think that I moved out 2 LD on it? Or I moved POJ or something like that. I'm of the mindset that POJ needs to play next year at the expense of Dumo preferably, and if they can move Petts, getting Saucy makes sense, but adding to the logjam on the LD doesn't. Also, don't have a fascination with him, I honestly have never watched him play haha so it was more just adding to what it seems everyone wants to do, for the sake of using it as a move. |

Ozzy Sabbath is the only sabbath. Period. If you like real Black Sabbath listen to the band Sleep. They almost do it better. |

I saw them 2006 ish? When offers gad all the metal core bands on it too. Sabbath and Priest headlined. It rained and the staff spread hay all over the field, the Sun then dried it all out. Right as Sabbath was about to start everyone made big piles of the hay and lit them on fire as they opened with war pigs. It was an awesome visual. |

Haha nice. I've been to a few Ozzfests and 97 was still the best lineup to me. Manson, Pantera, Type O Negative, Fear Factory, Ozzy with this band and then with Sabbath. I saw them in Giants Stadium. When Pantera came on people were jumping over the all from the seats to get to the standing area and the cops and security chased everyone back up, but when Sabbath came on so many people were rushing the field that the cops gave up. Ozzfest was never allowed back at Giants Stadium after that.

If they can't bring Letang back, do they settle for Jack Johnson instead? |

Dio Sabbath was tremendous. Only 2 studio albums unfortunately. Purple isn't metal either. I'm a big Ritchie Blackmore fan. His later Rainbow work suck though.

Ek says the Penguins tried to get Copp at the deadline and would push for him in the offseason if NYR's dont resign him.
Shame, I like him. But because Ek said we want him, we arent interested in him. |
