I think comparing women vs men in hockey is like Tennis, Soccer, Basketball, Softball, etc…
You can’t compare the level…
My comment was not against the women itself but more how the level of U18 was much lower than women…
As an example, you can have 17yo kids playing in Pro Soccer or a 17yo girl playing at Wimbledon but I can see any of the girls I saw yesterday in the gold medal playing for Canada or USA at the Olympics… - TheInformer697041
Out here we have a saying when someone is joking around with someone.
It's called "pissing on their brain", "urinating on their cranium".
I think these guys might be urinating on your cranium.. |

For me there is NO debate, you pick Wright and focus on trying to get another mid round pick |

Yeah....30 years ago...
Matthews was also consensus #1 and some "experts" said the Leafs should pick Laine/Puljujarvi.... - BashCH
Some are always saying all kind of things…
I think the only time I saw 100% unanimity was for Mario Lemieux…. So, it does not happen often!!!

I think there's a relative good chance they get another top5 pick |

I'd bet on us getting a top 10 pick.
I'm hoping we do a little better than last year.

It wouldn't be a terrible pick to grab Gaucher but I'm not a fan of "well we just drafted that probably bottom 6 player" in the first round.
Luneau, Pickering, Yurov, Mironishenko would all be players I'd rather have.
Hell I'd take a swing at Hutson who's small but is so god damn talented.
If you're going for a big guy, Noah Warren is a guy I'd consider as well but I'd rather grab him in the 2nd round, most likely.

1: It's the WHL playoffs, not the memorial cup.
2: Finding a past example of someone winning an award as a way to diminish a current player winning it is completely useless as you can find good or bad examples of every situations.
3: It was bad enough of a post when you said it in the Leafs thread, posting it twice to bring it here just makes it even worse.
4: Have a nice day.

1. He was also the mvp of the whl playoffs.
2. Junior success doesn’t guarantee nhl success. He may be good he may not.
3. If you didn’t like the post then it must have been good as it hurt your feelings. Quit being pissy.
4. I will thanks. |

OK. What is different with Ghule than any other junior players?
McDavid could have been a flop…
What is the solution? We don’t draft? We put all the names in the hat and we pick randomly?

every player develops differently after they are drafted at 18, drafting is not an exact science
just look at the draft from the past 10yrs and look how many guys drafted in the 1st round never made it to the NHL full time |

True… but I think he was 1 year older…. Maybe not…
Also, not related to your comment but many said Ghule is comparable to Weber…. I totally disagree with that…
Weber was a monster…. Ghule is strong but nothing compared…
Ghule is a much better skater even in todays standard… and covers a lot more ice…
Weber had a blast of a shot and Ghule is not there…
Both are great leaders….

Guhle is more a Slavin type IMO...and I hate comparison to nhl stars, every player is different and it's too early to know how a WHL player will look like at the NHL level |

Not great that he beat Stamkos' rookie goal scoring record in the OHL and then got 3 concussions and turned out to be braindead before them. |
