Interesting. Who coaches the prospects if there isn't a coaching staff in place by then?
- Chunk

They'll just place their sticks at center ice and Bob Pulford will get get the honor of tossing the sticks into the respective zones.

This, in a nutsehll, is my problem with KD ... he appears to think he is the smartest guy in the room, and is talking common sense.

Fact is, that he ought to want his team to play so that they have more goals at the end of regulation than the other team. End of story. All the rest of this is smoke and mirrors.

- SC116

Some GM’s have to prove how smart they are by making high risk, thinking out side the box, moves. Drafting players well before most others have them ranked. Overpaying for free agents or overpaying with picks and prospects in trades.
I would rather have a GM who goes by the chalk. In fact be conservative and draft prospects that slip in the draft. Find players that you can pick up on the cheap. Don’t rush players. Save cap space. Then when you are getting close make the big free agent signing that only costs you cash and not players, prospects, or picks (ala Hossa).

Wrong-o buckaroo! All buffalos gotta do is protect the pick if it’s top 10 in ‘23 and defer it to the 2109 draft.

It can happen, Buffalos always been suckered into conditional terms on 1st rounder’s received.

- MLew65

2109 doesn't really work for me, how about 2112 and the draft can be held at one of the temples of syrinx?

There are three very good prospects in 2023 and other than being From Russia, Michkov is right there with Bedard. And Adam Fantilli isn’t far behind those two.

I read on the inter web that the Hawks are interested in acquiring Gibson from Anaheim.
- DarthKane

His star has fallen, but his contract $ hasn't.

I have always thought on a good team he would be stellar, but with the hawks?

So you guys looking to move Murphy, what are you looking for.
- Buff36

Buff, I think our team is looking for picks, but specifically, they seem to be very interested in getting back in the first round.

what do you want for Debrincat?

We'll start with Martin Necas and a 1st and build from there

Obviously that first is in 2023 because you do not have a first this year. You can keep Necas, along with the firs in 2023, a second this yeart Seth Jarvis, and Koivunen.

Add Morrow, Drury, a 2nd round pick and the promise to never speak of the Teravainen trade again - then we have a deal.

You guys too? Welcome back.

The consensus here is 2 1sts and 2 prospects. Like you said a 1st and Necas is a start albeit that will be a 2023 pick, probably very late in the round. I don't know if Davidson would want a late 2024 1st in the package. Maybe two more prospects in addition to Necas. Suzuki? Drury? Jarvis if he has woken up from that Trouba hit and is doing okay?

Necas is to old, unless we get a 1st in 23 and 24, throw in a 2nd round pick and Rees.

No on Jarvis. He and Kochetkov are probably the only "prospects" I'd say no on.

Drury, Suzuki, Rees, Bokk, Morrow, whoever. Take your pick. I don't LIKE losing a couple of those guys, but 40 goals is 40 goals and the Canes window is NOW.

Looks like so far you will have to outbid the Kings, Devils, Islanders and Flyers. If that many teams are looking at acquiring ADB, whoever wins the sweepstakes should be giving up quite the haul.

Murphy in the East against Tampa so often probably not a good plan.

Of all the teams that can put together a trade package for DeBrincat I think NJ has the best assets to offer up and can afford to part with them.

Buffalo and Arizona can put together a decent package too.

The Rangers haven’t been rumoured to be in on ADB, but they could put together a strong offering.

A good offer, but not likely enough.

How about:

To Chicago - #28 OA, #106 OA, Portillo or Levi

To Buffalo - Murphy, Beaudin, #173 OA

True enough. We've got a ton of prospects but they're mostly all B grade ones. Not a lot of sure things in there. Picks we'll go all in with, but won't be able to match the quality that NJ or the Flyers can offer.

I'm thinking the 1sts offered up will have to be left unprotected
