It's not Horvat's job to turn the team into something he's not, his job is to lead the way he knows best. If management decides to change the identity of the team with heavier players i'm sure he doesn't mind sliding down the fight card.

Agreed I'm just questioning the path of that leadership. Last time I checked Toews never skated to the bench when his teammates were being taken advantage of. Like I said I don't expect Bo to take on the Reaves of the world but I do expect more toughness and examples on the ice than he has shown to this point. There is still time for him to improve but I fear this is what it is with Bo.

Which is still a concern I hope Rutherford and co. address. I know it's not popular opinion but Evander Kane here would have helped plus another big-style skating forwards that can play tough Hockey. But he will most likely re-sign in EDM after Holland shuffles things around a bit.

The formula is simple… consistent goaltending, stalwart defensive system, tenacious forecheck, and some skill at putting the puck in the net. Result; more wins.

That’s the amazing thing about winning, it eliminates all the BS.

Ya the Avs and TB aren’t very physical teams. Dino strategies don’t get you far these days, the game has evolved.

Shesterkin held his own against Vassy, Tampa was the better team up front.

I'm excited to see the Avs against Vassy, I just think Tampa is still a REALLY good/deep team up front (especially if they get Point back), and them against Francouz is going to be much more lopsided than the Avs against Vassy.
