Do any of you fellas play inline hockey? The TORHS national championships are in Florida 5 minutes from my house. I have not played in 20 years, only playing ice but was asked to go in on a team of referees and coaches. Let me know if anyone is coming down and we can grab a beer. |

Am I missing the big picture here on Josh Anderson?
https://nyihockeynow.com/...at-barzal-lou-lamoriello/
He seems like a very good third line player. Why would we give up a #1 for this? - Nfdbulldawg
We wouldn’t. Just some guy speculating. He’s probably a Canadians fan. |

Certainly an interesting prospect. Has some size and some skill. See how he does when he makes his way to the AHL. |

Not bad for a 5th round pick. Hope he develops well in the AHL. |

The league earned $5.2 billion last season and a lousy $1 million increase!? Rinks are back at full capacity. Why is it not increasing more? Fuking garbage. |

I was hoping for double that but didn’t expect it. Bettman and a lot of the owners are big fans of parity. |

I think they are saying they are still catching up from the Lock out loss of revs.. not saying I agree with it.. but that is the excuse for not raising it more than that number. I wonder if they will pay all the players Escrow out?

Well yeah of course they are I believe this goes without saying. Teams took it on the chin but I don’t think raising the salary cap 1.5-2 million is going to be that impactful for the teams. |

Torts to the Flyers. He’s going to get them going. The Metro will be even more competitive than before if that’s even possible. |

The NHLPA owes the NHL 1 billion due to the lack in revenue from Covid the past few years. Until this is paid off the cap will not significantly rise. This is a huge part of the minimal increase.
There is a predetermined formula that raises the cap as per the CBA, however, again the debt owed to the NHL by the players is the main reason for the minimal increase. At current earnings it will take 3 to 4 years to pay off this debt.
The owners alone don’t go to dinner and throw darts at a dart board to determine the Cap increase or decrease. |

Agreed. It's popular to make fun of Torts' style and say the game's moved past him or whatever. But, especially in the short term, the guy simply gets results. |

Yes, he certainly does. Comes in, kicks ass and players buy in initially. As you said, in the short term he gets results. After a few years his SH!t gets old and he loses his players. |

I don't disagree with u.. but until they get whole it won't happen. Especially with a new Virus pending every election year. Monkey pox .. imminent.

I'm always suspect of overaged Junior players who dominate especially the ones who aren't the greatest skaters. Not saying he will be a bust but I'm not expecting high end scoring numbers in the NHL. Would be a nice surprise though
