This will be the biggest off season for NYR in 20+ years! Some shrewd moves are gong to have to be made - rrentz
Does seem like this far of a run this year may be evidence they go all in next year. However, I do not think the Rangers need much. The experience alone was the primary factor. |

Yep. It feels harder and harder to keep this outlook as we get closer to the finals, but this season is already a major success regardless of what happens in the next 2 or 3 games. |

the only good news is that when we were down 3-1 to Pitt and 2-0 to Carolina I felt worse than this

Agreed. I cannot fault the Rangers players for their inexperience. In this series they are playing hard and not lazy. They just appear to be getting worn out. In the Pitt series it appeared they were being lackadaisical.
BUT, the series is far from over and the Rangers can find resurgence at home. Anything can happen in the playoffs. |

It’s a best of 3 with two games at home. The ole if you told me that opening night, I’d be quite happy about it thing.
They are clearly two different teams, home vs away. As the years go on the road games will become more comfortable to play in. |

Ya know Jimmy I don’t necessarily agree with that lol. Against Carolina I think the majority of us were like ok the kids got the experience and nobody expected us to be in the position we were at that point. But now after taking a 2-0 lead against Tampa and being up 2-0 in game 3. Just feels like a missed opportunity. I think this series is over unfortunately. I am going to game 5 and I just feel like the momentum is totally lost and we are just set up to lose in 6. Injuries are starting to pile up. Reality is starting to sink in. Sucks for me to say that and be the ultimate pessimist but just how I feel about the team right now. Game 5 is the series IMO and I swear if I hear anyone in my section scream Igor’s better I’m going to lose it. Everyone needs to stfu he hasn’t done anything yet. |

Rangers just arent producing 5v5. Tampa has locked down Zib and Krieds, gonna need to do a missing persons report for Panarin and the 4th line cant bury one. They need to step it up next game if they want to win. Its not looking good with Goodrow, Strome and Chytil hurt. Its a best of three at home, crazier things have happened in these playoffs so the Rangers arent buried yet!!! |

You might want to not conduct any pep talks to rally a team any time soon. Yikes.
I get it, two games lost in a row with injuries, but to pack up and call it a night is very premature. And this coming from someone who adjoins to nihilism. |

If they lose this series, game 3 was definitely the turning point. We had them on the ropes and bleeding in the corner. BUT thats where the inexperience comes in. In a year or two they’ll remember that game, and hopefully bury the opponent while they have the chance.
Any team other than TB they probably win that game and the series in 5 or something like that. Yet they still have the hammer sorta speak being at home. Game 5 is the biggest game of their lives |

Tampa has also been able to rest after the Panthers series, we went right into it. |

Awesome! Never been to a playoff game, but even regular season games are a blast.
MY buddy's first live hockey game was game 7 vs Washington when Stepan scored. I told him to not bother going to another game. |

There is nothing like attending a playoff hockey game. Even more so a Game 7 game. It's amazing.
And yea...your friend picked one of the best games to attend. Nothing aside from a Stanley Cup game will beat that. |

With Strome and Chytil out (maybe) for remaining games..that leaves NYR with 1 natural center. Unlike other fanbases, I haven't heard one person say "this isn't fair..booohooo". Injuries happen. Only way NYR can win is if all three lines are producing and healthy. Sucks, but thats the way the cookie crumbles with such a young team. Hopefully, they are back tomorrow

Moving forward they need a better 4th line and someone better than Rooney, at center, especially on it. Rooney is a nice story but he’s not a very good player, same with Reaves. In the regular season you can get away with it, or them, but we see in the playoffs how you need a 4th line to make more of an impact. Motte has 2 goals (one ENG) and that’s all we have from the 4th line and they can barely even forecheck for long stretches during these games. Maroon and Bellmare do way more than ours are doing. |

I don't know if the 4th line has to have more of an impact, more that it can't be a liability. Sure you need some scoring from everyone in the post season but, just like the 6th D, you need to be able to put them out there without being a liability. Breaking even and generating some energy would be sufficient most night. |

ultimately, what we need is for Panarin to play as well as Kucherov

Yep. His play begs the question, is he hurt? Or are we paying $11.6M/yr for someone who can't transition his game for the playoffs? |

I'm still a big believer he can turn it around in games 5, 6 and 7 (if necessary)
