it will be an interesting off season for sure. Dons reckless FA spending last year has left this team in a pretty awkward spot maneuvering into next season. Fluto may be exaggerating a bit, I think Pasta loves Boston so i’m confident a deal gets reached. The return would have to be mammoth to even consider a trade. It’s crazy talk to move 88

Why would Pasta stay? get the kings ransom for him, rebuild. not sure what else they can do?

Yeah not sure how much I believe this report to be honest with you. He was just trying to recruit Krejci to come back to the Bruins a week ago? Now he won't sign here because of how they treated Krejci? He's mad at how the Bruins let Krug go? Krug wanted to go to free agency and he signed a very similar contract to the one they offered him before his final season? Seems like BS to me.

Agreed. Pasta needs to stay, and I want him to stay. But I can also understand if there is truth to this. Sweeney needs to be very careful and not insulting in his negotiations. We shall see.

Guess we will know soon enough. If they dont have an extension agreed to by season start, might be time to worry a little more.

At the end of the day. David Pastrnak is more important to the rebuild than Don Sweeney lol

Couldn't believe what Sweeney gave Hampus Lindholm. Hey, I love Lindholm and wish it could have worked out in Anaheim, but to give him 8 years is bat-sh!t crazy! The guy is hurt all the time. The last time he played close to a full season was 2018-19, and even then he missed 12 games.

You want change? Stop watching, stop listening. Tune out of WEEI and 98.5 when they discuss the Bruins. Stop going to games and stop buying anything Bruins related. Avoid TD Garden and paying the Jacobs your money in concessions. Changes will come faster than you think.

I was just thinking that as soon as they choose to rebuild (whenever that is) the Jacobs family might move on. All they really care about is the profits and couldnt care less about the fanbase. Would love to see them sell the team to a new owner that gives a poop and doesn't use it as a good ol' boys club.

I understand its a business, but caring about the fanbase only helps your margins in the end.

Love how Sweeney has even backhandedly thrown Bergeron under the bus. He has essentially said his hands are tied on the direction to go with personnel until Bergeron makes up his mind. Although accurate to some extent, you don't say as much to the press...unless you're looking to CYA.

Really wish Don would accept that he cant build a champion and step down. Doesn't fix all the issues but it would be a decent start. The blame game is just pathetic.

Don’t know that he won’t resign seems a little bit of a stretch that he won’t because of Sweeney being here. But the info on Krug wanting to become a FA and the Bruins offering a similar contract is complete crap. Krug wanted to stay said he would be open to taking less to stay here.
Sweeney never offered sh-t. He thought Grzelyck was going to replace Krug. Not even close. He handled Chara wrong too.
His supposed upgrades for better scoring on the 4th line is a fail too. That guy from Vegas with a big 2 goals, Foligno lit it up too. Acciarri, ,kuraly, Vetrano , Ritchie all scored more and any 2 together would be cheaper. More physical too. He has to sign Pasta . Wouldn’t want to think about what kind of return Sweeney would get in a trade. It is going to be an interesting off season.

I think you have to be cap compliant day 1 of the season. Then everyone goes on LTIR and the cap space is given. But you have to be at the cap limit already for it to be used. It's a weird gymnastic thing with the cap. I don't fully understand it.

Ulmark at $5M/year and... NMC (WTF???)

Coyle at $5.25M/year and another friggin NMC.

I think coyle is just a 8 team no trade list at this point. So he is moveable.

It's crazier than that. It's a 10 team no trade list this year. It becomes an 8 team no trade list until 2025 and then it's a 3 team no trade list. I've never heard of this lol

I would say Haula was a pleasant surprise for the money if you are searching for a positive.

Only Chiarelli was dumb enough to do full NMC's all the way through contracts. Most of the time a player will receive a NMC followed by a modified NTC or several versions of a modified NTC.

Ullmark can be traded after next season, but he can pick half the league on his no trade list. Players are movable, but considering who is responsible for moving them its really anyone's guess as to what happens.

Oh I think it's quite clever of management to layer it like this. Just sounds crazy when reading it and it's not something I've seen before. With 8 and 3 team lists.

When it came down to it. Forbort was pretty solid on the third pair in the playoffs.
