You are becoming unhinged.
A vir totally complete team made a couple of significant moves WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT.
You made my case, the defense rests. - IonSabres
The Blues missed the playoffs the season after they spent 2 first round picks to acquire Brayden Schenn.
That off-season, rather than saying "the time isn't right," they made a stronger commitment to winning by bringing in Bozak, Maroon and ROR. |

They weren't where the Sabres are right now, in the middle of a rebuild. That's the point. |

5 years at $4.2M per for Zadorov.
Still interested? |

You don't get out of a rebuild until you try to win. It seems like some fans are thinking that next year is the year to try rather than this year, but I don't see what's going to be different next year, or why waiting another year is advantageous |

I just checked and game 1 SCF is Wednesday and game 2 is Saturday. Was hoping for a game sooner. |

He wouldn't be my first choice, but he did just turn 27, seemed to play a nice role for Calgary. Been a plus player each of his last five years. Big, strong, can skate.
I'm sure there are better, cheaper options. |

After next season, what's stopping management from saying they need another season to fully evaluate their young players?
If players like Quinn and Krebs, for example, have injury filled seasons, I can see management saying they need to wait longer. |

I don't think anyone on here is saying NOT to add talent. And I'm all for adding a legit goalie (I've said from day one that they need to address that position, in particular, since Levi and/or Portillo are at least 3 years away). And I want to see at least a bottom 3 vet D man brought in.
I just don't see where you find a spot for more than one guy up front, though. And I think trading young guys is not only a mistake, but at least a year away, since they still don't know what they have in about 5-6 players from last year. |

2 years, even 3, sure, but no longer then that as I'm not interested in paying a 3rd pair defenseman for 4 or 5 seasons, especially at $4M or more per. |

I don’t think the Rangers are particularly great, but they drafted #1 and #2 overall recently and both those players are on a 3rd line with a center who’s also a top 10 pick in the last 5 years.
They don’t sniff the ECF if they “did it the right way” and made sure no one was blocking them from guaranteed top 6 minutes
When opportunities arose for them to improve in the immediate future they took advantage.
That’s all I’m asking the Sabres to do.
If there’s a move to make the team better, make it.
Don’t tell me in June that the cap floor is more important than winning

Fair enough. At 27, he might be interested in a deal like that, anyway, since he'd still have good hockey left to play at 29/30, as opposed to becoming an UFA at 32. |

And it's hard to imagine the Sabres will have a more advantageous situation than this year
- 3 first-round picks
- 11 picks overall
- nearly unlimited cap space
- nearly stagnant cap
This is the time to strike. |

Krebs, Quinn, Peterka have been seemingly handed spots in the top 9 already and I just don’t get it.
None are guaranteed NHL producers yet
Odds are 2/3 fall short of expectations. Peterka is the one I have the highest hopes for.
I think Quinn has serious durability concerns

The idea that bringing in a real goalie will scare off Portillo and Levi is the most frustrating narrative to me. Portillo had a golden opportunity this year and opted to go back to school instead, and now the Sabres should put their professional organization on hold in order to placate him? Gtfo with that idea. I thought the Sabres wanted PWWTBH |
