A Birdy told me 70-80% chance pilut comes back. NHL 1 way deal. - Sabretooth9
Isn’t he another LD?
Samuelsson. Dahlin.
Power. Joker.
Pilut. Psyek
Bryson.
So Bryson would be odd man out.
Maybe a Psyek upgrade (like that’s even possible)! |

I have mentioned this all year well sorta. I mentioned we still need an elite talented forward.
Cozens peak potential is a 2nd line center
Tage is still can’t figure out. In person he’s still not a great center and then he pots 2 goals and you automatically think “he had a good game”
Krebs still reminds me of briere
But still. We need that big alpha male elite forward - Sabretooth9
I have been on that train myself and posted that I think they need a 1a and 1b line combo.
I just don't think Skins/Tage/Olo(Tuch) is good enough long term.
Problem is they have alot of question marks, we just don't know what they truly are.
If you were to compare the Sabres to Tampa's roster,
Defense
-McDonagh Shut down Dman to block a ton of shots and play the PK...Samuelsson we hope.
-Hedman, Norris-type = Dahlin, does Power achieve that level too...could be a MAJOR difference
-Cernak, tough, steady-eddy = open IMO (can't use Samuelsson 2x)
-Sergachev, solid puck-mover decent D on 3rd pair...open/Joker but I don't think he is as good
Forwards
-Point, the engine...open
-Kucherov, high-end sniper, playmaker, top 10 player ...split: Olo for sniper
-Stamkos, high-end sniper, unquestioned leader....split: sniper candidate = Tage, leader from Tuch?
-Palat, does everything right, Mr Dependable, gamer...Tuch
-Cereli, lock-down center...Cozens could be an upgrade here
-Killorn, lock down winger, tough strong on the boards...shutdown = Asplund, toughness?
-Paul/Goodrow/Coleman/Gourde/Maroon/Perry, role players to the max...TBD.
Goaltending
-nuff said
On the upside
-Skinner /Olo are goal scorer (well, every other year for Skinner, lol)
-Krebs, JJP, Quinn, Rosen, Mitts all have potential...plus this years 3-1sts.
(Again, what are they?...uncertainty leads to needing further evaluation required)
-UPL, Levi, Portillo, Johnson....lots of potential here, what are they? Time needed.
It WILL BE FUN TO AATCH THIS TEAM GEL, AND THE FO MAKE MOVES TO FILL IN GAPS!

Question would the sabers give up the 28th 1st round pick for conner Murphy. Since some rumors have circulating they looking for stay at home right handed dman. |

They’ve got a lot of good young talent and a flight goalie. Maybe some less than ideal contracts at the top, but it’s not overly cumbersome. |

I think NYR have been trying to trade Georgiev for a bit. Trade them the rights to Johnson and Portillo for him. Only 26. Looked good in playoffs. Perfect goalie to pair with UPL.
Sign a vet RHD to a one year deal. Gudbranson? He should be cheap.
I’m not a big FA spender but I would see what Nikushkin wants. Huge power forward, need a guy with size up top.
Use all your draft picks. Continue to evaluate this year. If some other teams fall in love with other guys we mentioned we want traded. Have at it, but I don’t think people are banging the door down to aquire Mitts

They are still evaluating what they have, so, how about all of the above? I bet they all get time at C. |

I would prefer one of mitts and Krebs. We need one of them to make it. Imagine if one can turn into a Thompson for us.
I am also in favor of drafting McGroaty at 16. He’s a big body who looks like he can be our eventual #3 center |

If JJ and Quinn make the team, then I think the natural switch is Mitts.

Mitts or Cozens - IonSabres
Right. Maybe Mitts takes 2C, and they put Cozens at 3C.
If they don't bring anyone of significance in up front...
Skins/TT/Tuch
Olo/Mitts/Krebs
JJ/Cozens/Quinn
Asplund/Girgs/KO
And you've got guys that can move up and down the lineup. |

275 goals by the caps were 10th in scoring
I think we need to be around there which is a 43 goal bump from last year

Uh, that's a pretty tall order, Nordberg. You're gonna have to give me a couple-a days on that one... |
