What possible timeline is that messing up?

Wouldn't that trio of moves show the current roster players that management is serious about winning?

there is zero reason not to try to grab 3 guys to fill those holes and give this team a chance to compete and get out of the most miserable 11 year stench in the entire existence of the NHL history

Spending to the floor to bring in some vets to help this team would be the opposite of rushing things. Assuming all these kids make the jump, continue to progress and stay healthy, without any depth behind them is a dangerous recipe.
