I threw out Puljujarvi for a minute and hear me out
there has to be a lot of pressure to play for a team where a young gun is the face of the franchise, be it mcdavid, eichel, matthews before jt arrived, etc
when a young player like Puljujarvi, if he was to get moved to a team like the sabres, the pressure is kind of off and perhaps the stick is not gripped so tight
perhaps that is why we saw guys like tage and others thrive this past season |

I'd take Marcus back in a heartbeat. - Powerslave
I'd pick him up at the airport .
Wonder if marcus would qualify as a "wants to be here" player.
He does have a young family and a sweat family summer spot close bye. |

I'd take a swing at him.. Maybe Johnson wants to play for an immediate cup contender

Change of scenery helps boost these youngs guys.
Puljujarvi checks quite a few boxes
Age
High end drafted

honestly I don't hate the idea. He's grown into an effective middle 6 and I don't think he'd cost much.

1- why do u like Puljujarvi so much?
2- what forward comes out of the projected lineup?
Are u trading someone or keeping one of the kids in Roch? |

So highly touted, high drafted fin, who still hasn't figured it out by age 24? Buy him cheap, if it doesn't work out, just find out where Chuck Fletcher is employed. |

they got no money. esp if they want to sign faila - homiedclown
https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/wild
Just over $7M in cap space for next season with 1 goaltender, 7 defensemen, and 10 forwards already signed. 11 forwards if you include Rossi, which seems logical.
They're trading Fiala by all accounts.
If they want to keep him, Dumba will be on his way out.
Do they really have big cap issues for next season based on the above? Doesn't seem like they do. |

My guess, highly drafted and maybe just not given the right opportunity. Has flashed at times.
Probably Olo, while keeping one of the kids in Roch at least (possibly both). They will be called up throughout the year.
Just my guess. |

He's a UFA in a couple of years, so you can get a 1 year trial run if that's what everyone is interested in. But his career has recently been trending up. He does some nice things without the necessity of a 'splash' signing.
Use Olofsson to acquire a top 4D, use a pick and a prospect to pick up JP. |

Not necessarily for next season, but Hartman and Boldy will need a raise or walk (Obviously just Hartman) as well. Losing two 30 goal scorers in back to back seasons doesn't seem like good business. After Zucc's 6 come off it's a bit easier. |

This.
Do they need a middle 6 F? I venture to say not, as they are loaded to the qill with them now (which is better than loaded with Bottom 6 the way it was years ago).
Focus on fixing the G and D. |

He's a natural RW, while most of our current NHL players are natural LWs. Admittedly, our pipeline of natural RWs is very stocked (current would be Tuch, Quinn, with Rosen, Nadeau, Rousek and JJP is equally good on either side). If Olo can get us that G/D target, Pool Party could be a fit. |

It gets worse the following 2 seasons with those Buyouts increasing.
They should be looking at shedding Cap a bit. |

That he did, just looked up his line combo. Don't watch many Oilers games (0 in fact) so didn't know this. This is a fair point. Acquisition cost may still be low though, and worth it. Not a hill I would die on, but he could thrive in a different situation, McJesus excluded. |

I threw a bunch of low grade contracts into the lineup for the Wild and it gives them about 5M in space. If you're not getting rid of Dumba, maybe you're getting rid of Kulikov and that 7M is just enough for Fiala. His replacement would take up 750k so you're still at like 6+. Not shedding Dumba or Brodin, it's exceptionally difficult to remain competitive and keep Fiala. Maybe they shed Talbot, call in a vet minimum to play with Wallstedt.
Following Billy G's conversations, it sounded pretty grim that it would be possible. Any time a GM even mentions the idea of getting the agents involved in a possible trade, that's it. He might as well be saying He Gone. |

I could see an olo for puljuj trade.
Not sure if that helps the Sabres though , unless they couldn't come to a reasonable deal with olo?
Problem then. How much $ does Edmonton have to sign him? Especially if he out prices himself ...
