Is paying a premium to trade within the division still a thing anymore?

Also, I'm not convinced this drama doesn't iron itself out. I don't see him going anywhere.

- buffalofan19

Sounds like more than just a coach there, not the first player to voice his displeasure in that department

has the feeling of a Jack-Sam-Risto thing... if he realizes he doesn't want to be around for a rebuild, maybe they're forced to trade him. Thoughts are Bergeron has similar feelings.

https://theathletic.com/3...nak-trade-bruins-rebuild/

“88 had seen how Don has treated his two best friends,” a source close to Pastrnak wrote The Athletic in a text. “No chance he comes back with Sweens as GM.”

Pastrnak, 26, is approaching the final season of his six-year, $40 million contract. The right wing will be free to sign an extension July 13. The Bruins want that to happen.

“I’ve said all along I will attack that one, as I have with all of our players that we’ve looked to go longer-term on, right away and see where it goes,” said Sweeney, who is working on the assumption that his own extension is imminent. “David has a decision in the same vein. He might be sitting back and balancing the same way, whether it’s Patrice (Bergeron) or anybody else we’re adding. Those conversations will come to light. We’ll have to make a decision based on the information that I get.”

Also, Pasta's agent responded to this.

Pastrnak agent JP Barry on Athletic report: "I spoke with Don and David this morning and we don't know where this report emanated from. We both have a solid relationship with Don and the plan hasn't changed one bit. We will sit down in July and begin extension negotiations"— steve conroy (@conroyherald) June 8, 2022

the conversation started when boss shamed someone for thinking olofsson would be making a tad under 5 mil
- homiedclown

For context, here was my original post that offended Boss so much he had to take Girgensons, Risto's and Olofsson cocks out of his mouth to nit pick over $250k.

10 projections and he picks out 1 to drive 10 pages of misinformation.

It was posted in response to someone posting concern about spending money on MAF after the Mark Anre-Fluery article of his perhaps landing in Buffalo

It really shouldn't be about the money in that that they have some ~ $22m -$23m to get to the Cap Floor.
$4.7m on Fluery
$5.5m for #2RhD
$4.75m for Olo
$1.25 m Brycen
$1.25m for UPL
$2.6m for Krebs, Quinn, Peterka promotions
$800 for Pysyk
$750 for 7th Dman

That's ~$22.6m and fairly realistic.
Again, I don't see much more in the F ranks as Adams uses the season to evaluate his next moves for the following season.

Edit - point is that the team could take a pretty good step forward and continue to take the next steps while still be a fiscally conservative team to stabilize the franchise after virtual bloodbath the Last couple years.

Agreed
And it’s pretty unlikely (imo) that Fleury would consider Buffalo anyways

Forget all this graph, charts and advanced stats BS...

The real question is does the Fantasy Hockey magazine's show him being drafted as a starter? This is how a certain poster determines worth.

how many old goalies fall off a cliff?

nothing worse then watching your goalie flop on the ice like a fish out of water and take forever to get back up

it's reasonable to think we should be looking for a goalie for 2-3 years. Can Fleury be that guy? He checks the culture box, twice. I can't really perceive how it's a bad idea for two years. I believe, however, he's only interested in one year deals.

you are (rightfully) scarred by Hutts. I would like to have confidence in Sam Ventura's team to discern whether or not Fleury, or any goalie, will find that cliff during his tenure.

No evidence yet he has fallen off a cliff. At age 37 however it is right to question when it happens.

To me, signing him for say 2 years as was suggested is all about helping the transition to UPL with the best support and mentorship along the way to achieve the best possible outcome.

If Adams is not convinced UPL is the future, then appropriate target Goalies change significantly.

It's pretty amazing how all of Phil's sponsors bailed on him, and yet pretty much every other player that bailed for this league kept all of theirs. It makes no sense.
