Because we're nowhere close to even making the playoffs and Miller was a win now trade for a team that was nowhere near ready to win now. Now rightly he's going to want a TON of money and term and that's going to suck if this was his high watermark and is nowhere near the same player going forwards. Better to sell high and start filling holes in the lineup and prospect/draft pick depth.

Though I doubt Oilers win the next game, that is a joke. Hits like that should be a suspension for the rest of the round. Players tend to be willing to take out another teams top players to get a better chance at winning with minor slaps on the wrist like this.
