Like the Pitt poster said, every year there is a team that "isn't supposed to do well" in the playoffs and the "experts" all make excuses. I could care less. Just keep winning. I don't care if the whole Tampa team came down with shingles and we had to play their AHL squad.

Traded by the Chicago Blackhawks with 4th round draft pick in 2022 and 4th round draft pick in 2024 to the Tampa Bay Lightning for 1st round draft pick in 2023 , 1st round draft pick in 2024 , Boris Katchouk and Taylor Raddysh.

Chicago made out like bandits on that one. To be fair though, Briesbois had previously fleeced them to take Tyler Johnson's awful contract for Seabrook's - that allowed Tampa to continue their cap shenanigans.

The two firsts will be low firsts, so basically second-rounders. Katchouk and Raddysh are bottom-six guys. Chicago can try playing them in the top-six, but it didn't work in Tampa with better complimentary pieces, so I doubt it works there.

Hagel is a 20g scorer under contract for additional term at a low caphit. I think that's worth two middling bottom-sixers and two second rounders - IF (big if) Hagel acclimates and excels. The jury is still out on that last part, but he appears to be progressing in the fancy stats, but it hasn't translated to the scoresheet yet.

I don't feel awful about that trade (yet?). I feel better about Nick Paul, but he might end up being a rental.
