Was thinking about this last night..regarding the UFAs. I wonder if all or some take a small one or two year deal just to stay on the Rangers. I mean why on earth would you want to leave this team for another team right now maybe some kind of discounts.

It would be like willingly moving from Tahiti, to Coney Island haha

Lol money that’s why. This is Copps, Vatrano sand stromes big opportunity to finally cash in. Can’t blame them for following the money

A split is ideal. I would prefer if they lose a game in Tampa that it be game 3. Coming back home after a win in game 4 at Tampa could be all they need.
- JRR1285

Although watching that game 4 would be stressful as hell first lol

I started as a Rangers fan in 1955 when I was 7 years old. My grandmother would come over to babysit me and my siblings on the rare nights my parents would go out. She would wait until the car left the driveway and bring out the large canvas bag she used as her pocketbook. It was filled with candy and snacks and a bottle of soda. Always came the “don’t tell your mom” caveat. The she would turn the TV to channel 9 to watch wrestling from Bridgeport. There were times when wrestling was not on (“we don’t root for that guy, he’s dirty”) but the Shaefer Circle of Sports was, featuring New York Rangers hockey. My grandma was French Canadian, last name LaBelle, who always rooted for the original 6 Canadiens or Maple Leafs. Being the snot nosed 7 year old kid I was I always rooted against her team and for the team from New York. So my love of the New York Rangers began. Thank-you grandma!

I would just be worried about going up 3-0. Dreaded three game series lead.

That's nuts. You have been a Rangers fan since before my parents were born.

My first tv was a black n white 13 incher and I thought I was the coolest kid in the hood

I’d watch the ranger games underneath my blanket so mom and dad didn’t know I was awake during the west coast games haha

No I get it lol just saying leaving this team seems silly after seeing what this team is doing, what this arena can produce has to do something for you in your soul as a player. Vatrano could very well be like idc, give me two years I’m staying. Copp is the guy who will cost the most imo. Motte is a shoe in to return, and should be. Strome is a goner. He’s the one guy who hasn’t been overly impressive

I think there were fans not giving them enough credit and I think there were overly optimistic fans during the year. I fell somewhere in the middle, figured they would definitely make the playoffs, but thought they might be a year or 2 away from really competing. Sometimes things just click in the playoffs and a team can surprise the hell out of people. Looks like that might be the Rangers this year.
- mdw7413

NYR is NOT the same team they were in regular season..with each playoff win, they gain confidence. Having that Kid line step up the way they have has given Tampa fits. They don't know what to do with them. Three big boys who can skate and are now tough on the puck. Complete game changer! Goodrow was main stay on Tampa 3rd line...now he's on a line with Motte and Reaves. The depth is a sight to see

Given the Lightning's bounce-back history after a loss. I should feel confident.

Vasi is going to bring it. If you guys solve him tonight, then I will be worried.

This team has taken the next step bc the kids finally hit their stride. That was the gamble in the regular season. They were inconsistent and now they finally found their own. Three scoring lines is awesome

Just saw a clip with Nick Paul being interviewed in the first intermission and Cooper told him to get in the dressing room , he walked away right in the middle of the interview

But I think I did say the Rangers need scoring from their third line in order to win in the playoffs!!
- Brukie

Going into the deadline, I beat a dead horse about how important it was to this team to have a good third line. To have depth and win faceoffs.

We got Copp and Vatrano however in no way was I expecting them used how they were and us to be still with the kid line rolling on the 3rd line.

Id argue getting Goodrow back with everything he does has been an absolute game changer. Team looks completely different with him back in the lineup.

The offseason is gonna be rough. They gotta figure out, first and foremost, how to get rid of Nemeth.

Theres absolutely no reason to trade Trouba, hes the leader of that defense. He has a NMC which he would undoubtedly not waive.

Understand, but you have the D prospects to take over and could be a nice chunk of cap space. You guys seem to have a decent young team, can't pay everyone.

We have just Schneider to take over his spot, and I dont think hes quite ready yet. The Rangers stand to set their defense back a year or 2 losing Trouba.

We have 15m in cap space, it will be tough but I believe doable to keep everyone but Strome.
