The Rangers weakened their team in my opinion by trading Buchnevich. They then had to give up solid draft picks to add another forward for offense. You don't trade a player of the caliber of Buchnevich to add bottom 6 players. That's bad asset management. Your position is archaic in my opinion and you don't seem to realize that there are other ways to add bottom 6 grinders who back check and hit. You seem to have this old school mentality which is why you think players like Ristolainen are good players. They hit somebody!

Well some will say they improved Cliff. Not always about having the "better" player. It is about the team.

Wow they gave up some picks for the stretch run to improve their team. How dare them. Guess they should have kicked the can down the road right cliff?

There is no such thing in the NHL as a redundant point per game player or close to it. The Rangers went out and paid two 2nd round picks for a lesser player in Copp. Copp seems to be fitting in well so he can help mitigate that loss. Doesn't change that Drury made an awful deal.
You don't move a player like Buchnevich to overpay for a player like Goodrow in free agency. Don't overpay for grit and loose borderline elite skill to do it. Also no need for a player like Reaves. Don't overpay for 4th line players. Especially when they don't contribute in other ways. No need for a "protection" player in today's NHL

I want to be clear to Rangers fans. Overall, Rangers management, both this version and the previous GM have done a fantastic job in developing their team. They haven't come close to their potential apex if a few players break out. Which it seems like they're on the verge of. Win or lose in this playoff run, this team has taken steps forward. The future is sparkling and I wish the team I root for had the same competence. I just don't like a few moves they've made.

If your only choice is to hire Drury or Ronald Hextall who do you chose Cliff?

The Rangers didn't trade their first round pick. Which would've been a mistake. I still don't think they're going to beat TB. The context of my point is that the Rangers are the team of the future and they should keep adding to their already strong stable of young players. That it was not yet time to go for it.

The future can also be now Cliff. You just cant seem to grasp that as you always want to kick the can down the road.

Their rebuild started in 2014 you said yet it still isn't the time to go for it as you say. N
