And, I believe Trudeau was much less detestable before he gained office. Seems to have let himself be surrounded by sycophants and career power abusers. Now he's pretty much a joke. But, so are our other party leaders.

Last thing I will say. I believe the vast majority of people who pursue public office have mental illness/issues. So many of them seem to possess innate qualities that allow them to become scum. Maybe it's just humans in general. They may initially claim to be doing it for the people and to make a positive difference but they all seem to devolve into bumholes that pander to the people that elected them instead of bringing about real, meaningful change.
