Probably a difficult position having 9 and 16 for kvyvyv.

Seems like theres gonna be some solid guys difficult to predict after pick #5. Could get a guy at 16 that they wanted at 9.

I could see the Sabres move up with adding a 2nd rounder to the (28) pick and squeeze another top 20 pick and get a guy they liked at 16.

Pick 9, 16 and 19.

Snuggerrude is what I've been hearing (loudly)

Gonna be a good draft to watch with all these different rankings.

Can't remember a draft like this, Not even 1OA seems certain. I think Cooley has a good chance of being better than Wright..

Good post. Something strange I notice with the 1st dozen or so prospects. - SPEED and SKATING.

I've been told those skills are the easiest to develop once drafted to the nhl. Some egomaniac that never played hockey.

I still disagree, skating, edge work, a great burst and speed is why you get picked early

- Boss34

It's what's holding Connor Geekie back, but skating can certainly be improved upon. Question is, can any one player improve upon it? Samuelsson had that question, and he did improve it. So did Corey Perry back in the day. Cody Hodgson is one guy that never overcame it.

Skill is natural, you pick it up top. Skill and speed is at the very top. Speed without skill is really nothing.

Brayden Point was a below average skater his draft year. He improved it dramatically

Grigorenko was a terrible skater. Never improved

May be late here...if so sorry.
This seems to be pretty aggressive to me since statistically speaking picks 1 -15 have about a 90% chance of playing > 100 NHL games from a study of 2000 -2009 draft classes conducted 3 or 4 years ago. That includes players at all levels L1, L2, L3, L4 etc.

Would be exciting though, I do agree with that.

- IonSabres

I'm more so speaking about guys that are projected pre draft to be top line forwards/D. Not necessarily how they work out in the following years.

I find it funny that Marek Hejduk is an American. Just hits closer than a guy like Samuelsson or Paul Stastny.

The more I read about Ryan Chesley, he would be a very solid choice at 28.
If Miro is there, I would strongly consider it, but doubt he is.

With their 9 and 16 selections, I'd be happy with 2 of
Savoie
Kemmel
Yurov
Nazar
Bichsel
A couple more are interesting as well.

I could see him taking a nice jump this year... he was a solid point producer on Roch. Some growth up here and playing with Dahlin should do him wonders for his offensive game

I think we'll have to grab Miro at 16 or even 9 if we want him now. Tho with the uncertainty he could still fall to the end of the round. Have some tough choices.

Depending on our #9 pick id consider him at 16. I think taking him at 9 is to much of a risk.

So the Pegula's have Russian friends ... Which means they like Russians which means Miro at 9
