Scott Wheeler put his rankings out, quite a bit different than Pronman's.

Isaac Howard ❤❤❤
I've advocated in the past for taking him with the 16th pick.
It would be quite a haul if the Sabres ended up with Nazar and Howard with their top 2 picks. |

the more I read on him, the more I like him
seems he is very good all around and has one of the best shots in the draft |

I'm stuck on Miro. It seems like a rare opportunity to pick up a top 3 talent 10, 15 picks later.
Also high on Gauthier. If Jiricek makes it to 9, I'd do that.

Interesting with what Wheeler said about when he'd consider drafting Miro. |

yeah I'd be shocked to see him fall to 40-50. But there's always that 'holy poop who's going to pick him' guy. Aatu Raty, Bobby Brink, Jared McIsaac, Timothy Liljegren...

doesn't appear to have a lot of top line upside. plenty of top 6 though. We know plenty of these kids will show up on the top line but it's odd to see how very few of them are initially projected to do so. Next year, like the top 10 kids are all sure fire top line guys. Crazy.
And when you're picking a guy you're not sure of him being a top line player, you're more apt to pick out a stylistic player. Goal scorers like Nazar, Kemell and Lekkerimaki, power forwards like Gauthier, Slafkovsky, Kasper, or high general skill guys with warts like Lambert, Geekie, Yurov, Miro or Howard.
I'm trusting Kevo's ability to identify the #WTBH midichlorian levels in these kids. |

This draft was pretty hyped a few years ago, unfortunately with everything that has happened the last few years it's pretty much become ho home draft. Some are gonna be better than we are being told or see right now, it's just hitting on those players. |

We have the chance to add 3 top 6/4 players and maybe even 4. You won't see me complaining. It would be more fun if the 'top line players' extended into the teens, though.

Agreed, McKenzie should be coming out with his updated rankings in the next little while. That should be interesting. |

His rankings usually feel like the most accurate due to his vast array of contacts around the league. |

Good post. Something strange I notice with the 1st dozen or so prospects. - SPEED and SKATING.
I've been told those skills are the easiest to develop once drafted to the nhl. Some egomaniac that never played hockey.
I still disagree, skating, edge work, a great burst and speed is why you get picked early |

Probably a difficult position having 9 and 16 for kvyvyv.
Seems like theres gonna be some solid guys difficult to predict after pick #5. Could get a guy at 16 that they wanted at 9.
I could see the Sabres move up with adding a 2nd rounder to the (28) pick and squeeze another top 20 pick and get a guy they liked at 16.
Pick 9, 16 and 19.

May be late here...if so sorry.
This seems to be pretty aggressive to me since statistically speaking picks 1 -15 have about a 90% chance of playing > 100 NHL games from a study of 2000 -2009 draft classes conducted 3 or 4 years ago. That includes players at all levels L1, L2, L3, L4 etc.
Would be exciting though, I do agree with that. |

his rankings are purposefully curated to try and match the draft instead of personal rankings of players. Guys like Pronman and Wheeler always bring a full report of a ton of guys while McKenzie is a little shorter and refined. I really enjoy both angles.
