Seriously? This, again? I thought this until I found out that teams were offering a first for Risto. Nobody questioned keeping Risto after we saw what others were offering.

Anyway, Risto had more appeal than Murphy. Teams saw a big and fast skating right-shot defenseman and wondered if maybe he was not good here because the team was not good. Murphy doesn't have that potential - he is a decent 2nd pairing defenseman.

im not sure what the angle is here. he had a legitimately good season last year, on a not so good team. He's a strong physical veteran defensive presence and Power could probably benefit from having him sit back for him.

He's actually had 3 or 4 good seasons in a row, I don't think 28 would be out of the box for them to ask for. Maybe 41st and something else gets it done.
