Said many of us last summer when the deal was made, but lots of people were liking the trade back then - most of them thought the Habs would be in the playoffs.
So funny looking back on that now. - Mashadar
If Bergy had resigned Danault, we wouldn't have had a need to trade for Dvorak.
So we would still have Danault and an additional 1st round pick.
No wonder Molson decided to can Bergevin, that's bad asset management.

Like I said, I don't like the teams in the East. But what's wrong with the Avs? Even the Oilers sound better to me.
At least it's not Boston or Toronto. But Toronto needs to win at some point.... |

Leafs should have fired Dubas right after the loss againts TB.
and Keefe a year ago after the loss againts Mtl when he was outcoached by a junior who himself got fired. |

At the end of the day, we still had a dolphin in the top 6, but eh. |

yeah, I'm pretty sure having sexual intercourse with a lion mascot would fall somewhere into the "furry" category... |

Do you really expect them to lose in the first round forever and never win a cup once again? |

We're not judging ... what happens between consenting adults and furry mascots is no one else's business but your own. |

I have nothing against Dvorak, as a player he can be useful in the right situation and his contract is not an albatross.
But looking at the team, after KK went to he Carolina and Danault was not coming back, and Weber on the shelf... Seemed stupid for trade a 1st, an overpayment in itself, for a team that was not going to make the playoffs.
Different story i the Habs were serious contenders, then the 1st might have been worth it.
